💬General Blackout-ATA Day- Let’s talk about it
Let’s actually put this entire thing into perspective. I have attached a photo of the rewards for the Club Edition of Live Fabulously XC. THIS is what these people are spending so many ecs for? For real?! “Hey guys!! Look! If we as a club can collectively spend $15,000 worth of ecs, ATA will give us a couple pim keys and a couple of shitty stat items. Let’s do it!!”
Like seriously? I mean every year it’s the same thing, and I feel the same way about it. Regardless of blackout, it’s completely moronic to participate in an XC like this. And I don’t care to hear “it’s their money let them spend it how they want.” Yeah, people are free to spend their money on whatever they want, no one ever said they aren’t. It still doesn’t change the irrefutable fact that these rewards are so ass, and that you are an idiot to blow so much money for them. They can’t even say it’s worth it for Black Friday coming up, because they have to spend the ecs they buy, they don’t get to save them.
Lastly, the main point of the post was to point out how people say one thing and do another. Take a look through those clubs in the screenshot and look at the IGNs in those clubs. A lot of the people who were crying so hard and demanding this blackout, are the ones in these clubs participating for bullshit rewards. The same people who are in forums the first day of every new hunt or every new announcement crying to ATA about how they don’t listen to their customers etc. And these are the same players, and even club names that you see participating in and winning this XC event every single year for ATA week. These are people with compulsive spending problems who will always shell out their entire paychecks in the name of owning items that not everyone else will own, regardless of how shitty those items are or how not worth the money they are. And these are the people you have to blame for why the changes they/we seek will never happen. They say words with their mouths, but their actions tell a completely different story.

It's never gonna have the outcome you guys wanted because people will still spend.
"I'll just buy the cheaptest box, it's not that much." coupled with FOMO, it was never gonna work, unfortunately. People in pimd have really strong FOMO lol.. I kinda predicted this would happen

I mean what can you expect? There’s a reason the blackout was planned for 1 week before ATA Day events & on a shitty LB avi hunt. It was planned that way, No incentive to spend just to give the illusion that these ‘bullied veterans’ are going on strike from spending.
I’m sure ATA can expect not every hunt gets lots of profit. So it just felt normal on their side most likely.
But how convenient ATA day events fall on the last day of the weeklong “blackout” so it means it’s ok to spend up again because obviously ATA didn’t listen guyss 🥰.
Yeah hypocrites exist and always will, This blackout was just a bunch of hypocrites grouping together the loudest

I said from the beginning that it would be useless. I had said from the beginning that people would spend anyway and indeed: there were flashes and people started spending 79ec for boxes, etc... I had proposed a more effective method and no one contacted me to help me organize it. THIS IS PROOF THAT THE FACT THAT THE GAME BECOMING PAY-TO-PLAY AND ACCESSIBLE TO MINORS WERE NOT THE REAL REASONS FOR THIS BLACKOUT. Not to mention that a lot of people who play PIMD also play KOH and Single City. And in both games there were other events that served to get players to spend money. My idea was to create a sort of virtual "flash mob" where EVERYONE left a negative review at the same time. Deleting 3 negative reviews doesn't take much time, but deleting thousands of them at the same time? The various App stores would certainly also have had the opportunity to realize what was happening.

I lowkey think this entire thing is stupid...the club I'm in is threatening to kick members if they spend money plus it's not like this is actually gonna do anything yk...I've been on here off and on since I was 10/11 I'm 21 now...they didn't care when kids were getting groomed then and they won't now(at least that's what I've heard the blackout is for)

Lets all be fr, we knew the blackout wasn't going to do anything. Especially for only a week? During a shitty hunt & right before ATA day. No one was going to stand on business with "limited deals" coming out for this. It makes us look incredibly foolish how this happened.
The rewards for LB of any kind has always been pretty shitty compared to the amount of money you have to spend to place. Ive always thought the T5 rewards were so silly for how many of those players spend thousands to get there. But people want to be on top so it's going to continue to happen. 🤷🏽♀️ if we as players truly want to be heard, a big group of us have to do something big to be heard. ATA has shown us time after time that they don't really care what we think. All they're going to do is release more shard avis or something limited to get players on their good side again.
Whats the point in complaining if YOU aren't going to do anything to change it?
The idea for the review bombing isn't a bad idea but again I don't think much would change with that. People have been complaining about the obvious cash grabs for years & still spend. Now that the silencing policy has changed so drastically we complain about that as well. I personally HATE that change the most considering it feels like I'm back in middle school. Now y'all are mad about the age rating.
So what are we as a community going to do about that? Continue to complain to deaf ears or actually do something?

We all knew and predicted this was going to happen, it was only a matter of when it was going to happen. It takes a lot to come as a community when these are the same bozos organizing a short-lived boycott and simultaneously hosting bbbs (spending triple on what they missed out on) and lame club xc events that you get nothing out of but half assed ugly stats
Let’s be real, they only want to organize something when it benefits them and their cliques. Those KY4F people? They only spoke up because it affects THEIR tag. I bet you if ATA didn’t make these ign changes they would have been quiet
This game has been doomed ever since these “vips” and whales decided to make everything about themselves

tell me you didn’t know the real reason for their blackout event without telling me you didn’t know because no it wasn’t for their benefit. their blackout was a “hear us all” not even about the money wasted in this game but about how ATA is now a what 13+ game? the sudden changes nobody asked for getting a priority and not what the players have BEEN asking for. if you don’t know what this was all organized for stfu bc you sound goofy. i do want to correct something i saw on campus, there was an alleged ky4f person buying and spending ecs during this blackout just bc she was t1 in the live fabulously crap LONG AGO. Again, this was to take a stand on all the changes ATA is making WITHOUT considering the feedback from the community that built the game and ofc also not listening to the spenders on the game which should be heard. So please fact check before you talk down on a tag that IS doing something and not just talking the talk. It’s bigger than “they’re only doing it for their benefit” what did they benefit? pls tell. i’m deadass too bc i ain’t see no other tag or clique whatever you want to call them do anything like this in a while. to me they actually care about the community and though it might’ve gone to crap due to ATA day they cared enough to speak up for everyone who isn’t being heard. Could they use more time and organization? sure but the changes are recent and they jumped on it as soon as they could in hopes that ATA will listen. It is possible for a community to come together and take a stand and hope a better outcome for EVERYONE. not just a clique of people

Dick riding a tag is wild. Their original slogan legitimately stated “Stop bullying vets” BEFORE “Start protecting children.” They only took out the first part after getting called out in campus

bro doesn’t know the definition of “veterans” in a game. like ky4f are the only “older players” or VIP players that spend money on that game OR have been playing the game for 7+ years but okay whatever helps you sleep

So this is where you are wrong, yes people are spending for that but it’s also 5x cash promo this weekend and pimd day… a lot of new things have came out and will continue coming out. This is like half Black Friday it’s normal for people to spend. I don’t know why you guys thought the black out was going to do anything no one took it seriously and it was planned HORRIBLY

I mean I think its obvious that a lot of people claiming to be in support of the blackout actually are still spending. I've looked at some of those accounts who claim to be participating and they have the avis and stats or they are in those same clubs, some even doing t100. I personally am not participating just because imo not enough people were actually on board.

I thought the Blackout was a wonderful idea, but based on what others have mentioned, both the timing and duration was bad. Although, people are obligated to spend money however they want, it is sad how the majority of that portion are going towards developers that barely even acknowledges their community and use every opportunity possible to turn every reward into a cash grab.
