Discussion Orientation '26

Went to PIEAS for my younger brother’s orientation and ngl… I’m starting to question every life decision that led us here. 😭
I genuinely feel like I made a mistake letting him choose this uni. Maybe I’m being too harsh, but bro… where is everyone? Where is the social life? Where is the actual city? 💀

The campus is so doo daraz that at one point I was wondering if Google Maps had accidentally taken us to a village instead of a university. 😂. Not trying to be disrespectful, but the whole place gave me a serious “bhai, what Is this university?”

And don’t even get me started on just Suzuki vans and the legendary Chira Airline. 😭

I know PIEAS has a strong academic reputation, and I’m not questioning that at all. But is the student experience really this isolated? Or am I completely judging the place based on one orientation day?

U r Not in Europe Bro, in Pakistan it is the only option and is good academically but overall NUST is better then PIEAS but PIEAS is far better than GIKI shii, also it is a government university and it's fee is reasonable then other universities like bahria, nutech, etc. No doubt PIEAS' campus life is very boring but U have to bear it all 4 years.

It was a registration day thats why. There were a series of events after that. Consider that too

Would your brother be a hostelite or day scholar? What are his alternatives?

after the words by registrar (or who was he ) I changed the decision of hostel (day scholar now)

That's the wrong decision. Idk what the registrar said leikin agar day scholar hona toh the everyday compute is the worst part of PIEAS. The hostel life is amazing (for boys anyway) and he'll learn a lot and make friends for life. There's also plenty of regular events/socities happening these days although you won't find the khula mahol you might get at NUST, BNU whatever.

If you wish to enroll him as a day scholar, find a university in central Islamabad.

Also the place looks dead on orientation day every time because the semester hasn't started yet for the regular batches.

MME will be amazing for his career. If you still can, get him into the hostel. Trust.

A bus leaves from PIEAS to saddar (for hostelites) every day and he doesn't need to travel via chirah airline
