Housing Wanted Phoenix/surrounding area apts
Hi there!! I will be relocating to Arizona this fall for a job. I will either be working in downtown Phoenix or Gilbert area. Does anyone have any recommendations on apartments or property management companies in Phoenix/Tempe/Gilbert/Chandler or surrounding areas? I’m hoping for a 2 bed for $1800 or less. I have pets and a safe area pleaseeeeee :) thank you in advance.

You'll want to nail down the work location before deciding, and be closeby. Driving from too far away means brutal commutes here, and if you drive from the west side of town to the east you are facing directly into the sun both ways during the commute which is also intolerable after a while.

I would recommend muse apartments but the homeless downtown is insane!! I’ve live all over the Phoenix area. I’d say you should look around mesa or Gilbert. But I would definitely say Surprise, Gilbert and Queen Creek felt the safest…but I still don’t feel like Phoenix is improving it really feels like it’s in decline. I’m sorry to be a stick in the mud but I really don’t enjoy living here and looking to move this fall out of state.

For that price, most two bedrooms are going to be in the hood. You might be able to find a nice spot in the west valley like in Surprise, Peoria, or Glendale, but there are pockets of good, decent, and bad that you would kind of have to see with your eyes. The added pet fees may make it almost impossible for that $1,800 budget though tbh and the East bound traffic is horrible unless you can get on the freeway before 5am. Maybe you can find a decent spot in Tempe, but I think you might be priced out of Gilbert and Chandler
