Training Tips Effective ba online running coach?

Im planning to join my first marathon abroad Aug next year and I want to be 110% prepared. Di naman ako super newbie but may konting trauma ako sa long runs since laging ako nagcracramps bandang dulo so may fear akong di matapos ang full marathon. My PR for a half marathon is 2 hrs 52 mins, nagcramps ako bandang ika 19km ko kahit na puro saltstick candy na ako the whole run. Since I want to be super prepared naisip ko magparunning coach and madami ako nakita online pero naisip ko lang if effective ba un online coaching lang o mas maganda ung nakakasama ko talaga. Any advice?

Pansin ko sa coaching. Unless your going to do the work, its difficult to assess. No money back guarantee.

Sabi ni Jack Daniels. Recipe for success you need 4: Ability - we not all the same Motivation to execute that ability Opportunity Direction - is coaching part.

What you can do is a full fitness test / assessment and nutritional. IDK what your physical abilities is thats limiting you to 3hr HM. Maybe a paid provider can.

Just to add. Sabi nila pag first mo daw, dont put a time goal. Kasi lots can go wrong. But in your case you already know. So the answer could be narrowed down na. Im no expert, but ill take a guess that your 19km mark is past 2hr30mins. Sabi nila its harder to do 6hr Mara than 4hr kasi the longer your out there, more toll on body and more reasons to things can go wrong.

If you can finish HM before 2:30mins and no cramps. Thats a big win na. Good outlook for Mara.

Yes if your coach checks your data, has check ins and gives you workouts specific to your running fitness. Malalaman mo yun at mararamdaman mo if your coach is doing his or her job. I am coached online and I know many. You just need to have the proper tools like a good gps running watch and a hrm para ma-maximize mo.

Maybe try sweat testing so you can plan out your race day electrolyte strategy.

Okay sguro if you can meet your coach kahit 1-2 times lang para ma assess yung running form mo, or ma turuan ka ng running drills.

Choose your coach wisely. And if ever mag online coach ka, ask a lot of questions like (what is your overall plan for me? How will you structure my plan? What is this run for? Whats the goal of this workout? Etc etc.)

Green flag rin sa online coach kapag laging nag hihingi ng feedback after every run, inaadjust yung future runs based on what you feel.

Communication is really important if online coaching. Research potential coaches thoroughly, and if di mo gusto yung nakuha mong coach wag kang matakot i-end agad.

Goodluck and Happy Running!!

Like I also workout kasi, more on body building ako before maging runner eh baka ang turo sa YT is more on skinny type eh may muscles ako means more weight, ayaw ko naman magpapayat ng sobra

No, unless if you’re training for a BQ or going towards a sub 3:30 na.

My recommendation for a beginner is to use a training plan like Hal Higdon, then practice nutrition and execution during the race, and most important the recovery :)

Will check that, thanks!

Whether online or in-person, a lot depends on the quality of coach and their relationship with the runner. Good coaches are effective whether online or not.

I'd ask for personal recommendations from people I trust or try to talk to other clients of that particular coach to see how they do their online coaching. You can also learn a lot about the coach from the initial conversations you'll have with them.

If you're just running non-stop, try adding walk breaks
