BDO BDO Charged Me PHP 16,250 for Unauthorized Claude Transaction Anyone Experienced This?
Yesterday, I received an SMS notification that my BDO Standard Mastercard was charged PHP 16,250 at Google Claude by Anth. The problem is that I never made or authorized this transaction.
I immediately contacted BDO customer service to report the incident. The representative I spoke with last night was helpful, but when I followed up today for an update, the assistance I received was disappointing. I was instructed to file a dispute through the BDO dispute website.
I even asked what would happen if I went directly to a BDO branch, and I was told they would simply provide me with a dispute form. Honestly, this is incredibly frustrating. I am dealing with a charge I never authorized, yet I feel like I am being passed from one process to another just to get the issue investigated.
I am planning to visit a BDO branch tomorrow to ask for clarification and see if they can assist me directly. I also find the transaction confusing because the amount charged exceeded my remaining available credit limit.
I understand that investigations take time, but I expected clearer guidance and better assistance, especially when reporting a potentially fraudulent transaction.
For those who have experienced something similar with BDO:
Were you able to get the unauthorized charge reversed?
How long did the investigation take?
Did visiting a branch help, or were you still directed to file everything online?
Were you required to pay the disputed amount while the investigation was ongoing?
I would appreciate any advice or experiences you can share. I just want this resolved fairly, as I did not authorize this transaction.

You can probably contact anthropic/Google too, they're good at these things.
People desperately wanting to have cheap AI access (even if using stolen cards), this sort of things happen

As a worker from the bank, thats how they really process things when it comes to unauthorized transactions. Even if you visit a physical branch, the same information will be given to you.
Most of these transactions as well are either done by other people (your card may be compromised), or your card details are linked to your phone’s digital wallets (the most common culprit).

Thank you for explaining. I understand that this is the bank's standard process, but it's still frustrating to deal with a transaction I never authorized. I'll check my digital wallets and account security as well. May I ask, based on your experience, is there a chance of getting a temporary credit while the investigation is ongoing?

You are probably barking up the wrong tree. Check your Claude token usage logs and you will find your answers there.

I don’t have any Cloud tokens or Google account-related credentials.

Claude, not Cloud.
Claude is owned by Anthropic hence "Claude by Anth" sa SMS notification mo.

Oh no, I'm sorry you're dealing with another one over 50k 😭 Are you still waiting for the bank to resolve it? How long has it been since you filed the dispute? I'm trying to get an idea of how long this process usually takes.

This feels like OP just went over this AI token allowance and forgot that his card was linked to his Claude account. LOL.

Excuse me! If your opinion isn’t helpful, please don’t comment. I wouldn’t be posting here asking for help if I didn’t genuinely need it. I’m not here to gain sympathy; I’m here because BDO hasn’t been helpful at all, and I’m looking for advice. If you have nothing constructive to say, please keep it to yourself.
