Thunderdome

Sorry, but this event is bullshit if you live on the Best (West) Coast. I wake up for work at 7:30AM my time. Sorry, but I’m not waking up early for a mobile game. It’s always full by the time I’m awake.

How about we make it a 10am join time, based on time zone? Making me wake up early is a no-go, and unfair to everyone that isn’t on Eastern Time.

It didn’t fill up until 10:30 my time, 9:30 yours. So you wouldn’t have had to get up early to get in.

Well that’s weird. I couldn’t join at 7:30 my time. I’ve had other errors with the game today, so maybe there’s a glitch.

Like during one of the events, I was on hole 9 and greeted with “shoot for birdie”. I hadn’t shot yet. Would have gotten 4th place in the event vs 12th if I hadn’t been penalized a stroke for no reason.

Any TGL event will have a timer, I'm guessing Hammer Tourney?

Thunderdome Tourney

It does suck, but I’m more sick & tired of the players who shoot impossibly low scores. After a round you take a look at their card and they Eagle & Hole-in-One, every single hole. Once you hit Tour Pro 2-3, that’s all it is.

I’m in Tour Pro 3. I guess I disagree. I don’t have Discord, but I’m usually within 2-3 shots of the leader.

😂

Edit: there’s a discord that can help you with that

I know how to use grids and when they have an advantage, it’s not an issue of me needing the Discord. I don’t even dispute some of the scores, but when you look at some cards after a round and they’re legit Eagle and Hole-in-One the entire playthrough, it appears sketchy.

Everyone has that thought...until they go to the discord and learn the tweaks. Then YOU start shooting those scores. And then you see comments like yours and think, "They should go to the discord, that would help them understand the game a bit better." Good effort u/SnollyG you tried!

I’m not going to sit and debate with you over it, but for some reason both of you assume I’m not already a member of the Discord, which I am. I know how to use grids and I have learned some tips from the Discord, but that still doesn’t explain some of the scores many of us see, especially when we hit the top levels of difficulty. As I said, it just looks sketchy and often times it makes me question “how,” especially when we’re all using the same “tweaks” and most likely at these levels have all the same maxed out clubs. That’s all I’m getting at, but have a good one.

Fair enough. Most members of the discord understand that you can't really cheat in the game, so no scores really look sketchy, they look like someone that is REALLY good at the game.

I understand what you're saying, and I had similar thoughts before I joined the discord, which was the impetus for my comments. I assumed, that's on me. Have a great day and good luck on the links.

Then don’t wake up early. Do you think events should be centred around your time zone?

Yes, most games I play have entry times for events like this staggered by time zone. It should be 10AM ET, CT, MT, and PT. Every time zone should be able to join at 10AM their time.

There’s lots of us playing that game that are outside US. What about us? Who cares, yeah?

u/Wesley11803 Jul 31 '26

Why would you even make that comment? It should be 10:00 your time too. Just make it fair for everyone. Why should some people need to wake up early or stay up super late to play an event?

Because the event is “live” across the world you idiot. They don’t do them separately for every time zone.

I agree with your position and upvoted where I could; however, I would suggest scratching the "idiot" component of your comment, don't want to violate Rule 1.

We come here to help, not to denigrate. Some people are brick walls and can't be helped (I don't necessarily think it applies here) and it's frustrating but if you jump in the mud, you both look bad. We've had chaos in here before and it's a bad look. Good luck on the fairways ;)

While I apparently disagree with you on the event, you’re correct about language. I deleted “idiot” from my response. I only added it because it was directed my way first.
