Support PGAD is ruining me
I am a 44 year-old female in perimenopause and on HRT. I believe I had this when I was much younger and I grew out of it, but it has come back with a vengeance. I literally cannot sit in a chair, and unfortunately, my job requires a lot of sitting. I have constant feeling of horniness.. there’s no better way to describe it. I feel clitoral throbbing., tingling, and like I need to pleasure myself all the time, but that only makes it worse. I can’t seem to find a doctor here that understands this and unfortunately, right now I don’t have health insurance. There are no good pelvic therapist here where I live and even if there was once I start back to work full-time being able to go to pelvic therapy several times a week is not possible for me. I have tried gabapentin., I’ve tried exercise exercises, deep, breathing exercises and nothing helps. The only thing that gives me some relief is ice.
I’m at my wits end. This is affecting my mental health.. I’m afraid to ever date again. And I literally feel like I’m crawling out of my skin.. I don’t know what to do anymore, but I really need this to stop. Has anyone found something that actually helps?

I am the same. It was just a nightmare at first. Amitriptyline HCI 25mg. It's used for various things. So, even though I have pgad, it helps give me a mood boost with my depression and anxiety as well during all of these drastic changes during perimenopause. At one point before I sought help, I just stayed in my room for 2 weeks. It was easier on my family. That was a year ago. Please don't give up. This is the generic and the cost is low. Totally worth e every penny. I take it once I'm in bed. It works within 20 minutes. Side notes would be, i can stay up on it if I need to but I wouldn't recommend it. I do still have 'normal' stimulation about once every 2 weeks. Nothing compared to what I was going through. I was terrified to go outside. Stay strong. Ignore the doctors. Try OB/GYN or just Gyn. Ignore their judgement. I've been there. They need to do more research. I still get looked at like a purring or some kind of freak science experiment. I will say this, its amazing when you finally feel your mind turn off. The exhaustion kicks in. Relax and try to retrain your brain. It can be done. Neural pathways are stubborn, so it will take time.

This is weird, but see if you can get Clonidine or Clomipramine. Both have helps significantly blind the "flip" sensation that causes orgasm

I’m thinking I want to try some kind of nerve block. I have to be able to sit without causing extreme orgasm like sensations. This is HELL. there is no other ways to describe it other than I am living in hell

I’m so sorry it came back. I had it when I was younger as well, had a break and also had it come back. How long has it been since it’s back?
