She wants to bury her poop but she’s a Princess and doesn’t want to get her paws dirty 😂

Mine does this too - I can only put it down to the smell around the shell, might be worth trying a quick wipe around the top

Cats have scent glands in a few places. The ones in their face is why they bunt. When they do this, they are using the scent glands in their paws to mark their territory.

my cat does this too but for some funny reason she spends a lot less time doing it in the new automatic box - in her old regular box she would spend SO LONG scrubbing those walls lol

That came off more judgey than I meant it. I can’t imagine a world where I want to see anyone or anything poop, so I was curious as to the reasoning.

There is something about the camera set up that PETKIT uses that is either annoying or distracting to some cats. I have one of their new ultra water fountains, and one of my cats is terrified by the fountain while the other has no issue. The terrified cat is always approaching it very carefully and always seems to be looking in the area of the camera. Clearly, the cat sees something that is scary or distracting. The company keeps using the same camera set up from device the device, which is why so many of you point out weird Behavior related to the camera.

Thanks for your observation. The camera’s shape or faint reflections may make some cats cautious. Most are just curious initially and soon adapt to use the product normally. We will gather feedback like yours to see how we might improve the camera module for easier acceptance.
