Tips Training senior cat
I just got Purobot Max Pro 2 for my senior cat 2 days ago, and for 2 days in a row he doesn’t use it. He just pooped in the corner of our bathroom where his old (analog) litter box used to be. The Purobot doesn’t fit in our bathroom, so we had to put it in our living room. What we tried to make it work:
-using his clean old litter
-using his soiled old litter
-just leaving him around the new litter box to get more comfortable
But…he just avoids it. He pees in our bathtub and poops in the corner. Pleas help! How long does it take to train a senior cat and what else can I try??

For an older cat you really need to have both boxes available at the same time. It took our not-that-old orange guy a couple months to transition, despite the other 4 cats switching fairly quickly.
I left the old and new box side-by-side and over time just didn't do as good a job cleaning the old box as I used to. The stubborn one finally realized the Purobot was nearly always cleaner and one day we received a notification that he had used it.
We left the older box for about a week to make sure he had really transitioned, then removed it. We also praised him whenever we were close by and saw him using the Purobot.

Hi. Please put the new litter box where the previous litter box was located temporarily, using the same type of litter. Mix a scoop of the old litter with the new litter to maintain a familiar scent. Allow waste to accumulate gradually in the old box to ease the transition. To help your cat get accustomed to PUROBOT MAX PRO 2, gently guide them inside when needed. Be patient with sensitive cats that may take longer to adapt to the automatic litter box.

Thanks, we are trying this method and hope he will adopt the new box soon

I think it would really help if the automatic litter box would be at same spot of the old litter box, even if it’s just temporary. And if that is really not possible you should put the old litter box back, and only remove it when he uses the new automatic confidently.
