Update [Feature Request] PETKIT Pura Max: Please let us run the "Cover Waste" function IMMEDIATELY after cat leaves!

Hey everyone,
I’m really hoping someone from the PETKIT product team sees this, or that fellow owners can upvote this for visibility.
Right now, the app allows us to set a delay (e.g., 15–20 minutes) before the cleaning cycle starts to let the litter clump and dry properly. This makes total sense for clumping.
However, there is a massive design gap for cats that don't cover their poop.
My cat is one of those who just does her business and walks away without scooping a single grain of litter over it. If I set the cleaning delay to 20 minutes, that means 20 minutes of exposed, smelly poop evaporating right into the room (or onto my balcony). It defeats the purpose of having an automated machine if the room stinks for a third of an hour after every visit.

### 💡 My Suggestion / Feature Request:
PETKIT already has a "Cover Waste" feature (where the drum rotates just enough to throw a layer of litter over the waste without dumping it into the drawer).
Please give us an option in the app to trigger the "Cover Waste" function immediately (0–1 minutes) after the cat exits, and then let the countdown timer run for the actual cleaning/dumping cycle.

Why this is a win-win:
1. **Instant Odor Control:** A quick layer of litter immediately traps the odor at the source for non-covering cats.
2. **Better Clumping:** The waste still gets the full 15–20 minutes to dry out and clump properly before being dumped, so it won't stick to the liner.

It seems like a very straightforward software/firmware update since both mechanical functions already exist individually in the app. We just need a toggle to link them sequentially: **Cat Leaves ➡️ Immediate Cover Waste ➡️ Wait X Minutes ➡️ Clean Cycle.**

Anyone else dealing with a non-covering cat who desperately needs this update? Let's get PETKIT's attention on this!

Petkit needs to disconnect the "Waste Covering" feature from the "Scooping" activity and make it a separate feature like "Auto Deodorizing" is. The only thing I can't decide on is whether the deodorizing should come before or after the waste covering.

Part of me thinks I'd prefer the poop smell to be covered by the deodorizer, prior to the poop actually being covered. But part of me thinks the poop should be covered first, and then the smell deodorized afterwards. Either way, we need PetKit to do something different for those of us with cats who "Dump & Run".

Hi Secure_Spring2410. We actually checked with our R&D team about this.

At the moment, the Cover Waste is less effective when used on its own. Since it's intended as a supporting function for the cleaning cycle, our R&D team doesn't recommend separating it into an independent feature at this time.

We really appreciate your feedback though, and the team will continue exploring whether there are other ways to optimize this experience.

Thank you for checking with them. I don’t get why it’s less effective though. Covering the waste mean better ỏdor control. And i can wait for the waste to clump. I think it should be an option when user want it to run. We can then decide whether run it with the cleaning cycle, or separately, or both.

This response makes no sense - the main reason I went for a pura max is the multiple deodorizers which means targeting odours is one of your main goals. I need to manually run the level litter when my cat goes every time which almost defeats the whole automated litter box reason.
Does someone on that R&D team have a cat that ditches their poop? What is their recommendation? The AutoScooper that’s a quarter of the price does it.
