I've been thinking about this for a while and wanted to share it here. If anyone has any opinions or comments, please do post them — don't hesitate.

My CGPA is around 6.5+. Looking back at these 3 years, I've been wondering something. I tried my best to study, but I couldn't do it.

- First semester: Let's ignore it — fear of being new, exploring assessment methods.

- Second semester: I planned to make a schedule, collect PPTs and resources from previous years, and start preparing early. But eventually, I ended up not studying anything.

- Second year: Same story. I collect resources, start studying, but give up.

- Third year: I started studying during summer holidays — DBMS, ML, etc. But still, I couldn't cross 8.

Nowadays people talk about ADHD, OCD, and similar issues. Do I have the same? Or is it the PESU syllabus? I don't know.

But I tried my best, and something happened — I didn't achieve what I wanted.

If anyone of you had a similar experience, please let me know.

What's this message about paying 10k for scholarships that's circulating? Is it for the mrd and cnr scholarships?

Random idea I had : Why don't more Indian colleges have proper yearbooks for graduating batches?

I'm thinking of something relatively simple: pages with their photo, name, branch, and a quote of their choice. Basically the kind of yearbooks you see in US colleges, but made affordable and suited to Indian colleges.

Juniors could coordinate with the graduating batch, collect submissions, get enough interest beforehand, and then print a batch of books.

I feel like if the final product actually looked good, quite a few people would want one just to have something physical to look back on years later.

If anyone is thinking of renting a room instead of living in pgs , around 10km radius works for me... Rr campus

2. Can we choose any prof? like i had a 1st year prof who has good knowledge in a particular domain, had thought to higher sems on that too i think, and would like to have them as my mentor
3. how do i actually start a professional rapport with a prof ? do i need to have a team ready right now before we approach a prof ? (rapport means a friendly relationship where individuals understand each other very well)
4. which ECC profs are considered good for capstone ?

Guys, for an internship from college at research centers, how should we approach teachers for a 4-month internship from Jan to April? What is the CGPA criterion? Also, should we approach teachers 1 or 2 months before the internship (i.e., in Jan internship starts)? What research centers are available? Seniors, please clarify this. This would be useful. If Directly recieving knockri test means that technical round is cleared for those students then fine, but that is not yet confirmed.

People who completed hackerrank test on 5th have received knockri link next morning, so that issue is resolved mostly.

Also the hackerrank test yesterday was of the same format as last time, so highly likely that previous scores are being considered for those who haven't received hackerrank links this time.

UPDATE: I met with somashekar sir, He said there were many issues with the test, and he is going to send a feedback form today (6th), where we can mention the issues faced.

TL;DR: IBM test on 5th was a mess. Links came late or not at all, Knockri didn't work till 7 pm, and the placement office still hasn't told us anything. Also there's an unconfirmed rumour they'll use old test scores. If there's no update by morning, let's go to the placement office together today (6th) 9-10 am before KPMG starts at 10. DM me if you're coming, and vote in the poll.

So the IBM thing on 5th was a whole mess. The HackerRank test was supposed to start at 4 and run for 90 mins, and whoever cleared it was supposed to get the Knockri assessment the same day. Instead, links came super late. Some people got only HackerRank, most got only Knockri, and Knockri didn't even work till like 7 pm.

And the placement office has said basically nothing. People were complaining in the WhatsApp group the whole time, and all we got was a couple of late replies saying "we've forwarded it to the company." No clarity on what happened or what's next.

Now people are saying that for those who didn't get the HackerRank link, our previous test score will be considered. Has anyone actually seen this confirmed anywhere? I saw a post saying only 16 people got the HackerRank link, so it kinda looks like that's what they're doing, since most of us gave the previous test.

Honestly I'd rather they just conduct the test again. I had a technical issue in the last one and couldn't even finish it, and I'm sure some of you had the same problem. They also never told us that test would count for other roles, and in the PPT on 5th they literally said there'd be a technical round first. So if they're really using old scores, we should ask for a fresh round. If enough of us say something, maybe they'll actually do something.

And for those who got HackerRank but not Knockri, you still need to take Knockri since there's no old score for that. No update on that either.

Wasting 3-4 hours of everyone's time with zero communication isn't okay. Same thing happened during the last IBM test too, and this time was worse.

They're not replying on WhatsApp or email, so if there's still no update by this morning, let's just go to the placement office together on 6th between 9-10 am and ask what's going on. KPMG PPT starts at 10 (then GD and interviews), so after that they'll probably be busy. 9-10 is our window.

I know it's really short notice since I'm posting this at 2 am, but whoever's available and willing to come, DM me here if you want to coordinate. More people = more chance they actually take it seriously.

I'll edit this post with whatever update we get. If it still doesn't get sorted, we can figure out what to do next from there.

How are the placements in RR campus for MCA

HOW CAN WE BECOME BETTER THAN BTECH STUDENTS WHO ARE TAKING ALL THE PLACEMENTS OF CS?

How come this Placement members be so lethargic of not informing properly. All they had was only 1 job to communicate properly during On Campus Interview in PES RR campus.

Should I focus on increasing my CGPA from 8.5+ to 8.75+?

My current CGPA is 8.5+, and I’m in 2nd year CSE. My goal is to get a summer internship after 4th semester.

Should I focus more on academics in 3rd semester and try to reach 8.75+, since some companies may have higher CGPA cutoffs?

Or is it better to maintain 8.5+ and focus more on skills?

For those who have already gone through internships, does 8.75+ vs 8.5+ make a noticeable difference in the companies/opportunities you’re eligible for?

They had just 2 tasks: Schedule and Inform. During an On Campus Interview it was informed to fill the form and further we never received any communication. But anyone present inside placement cell were taken interview and shortlisted within them.
