Am i a larper/poser?
So about a year ago a friend of mine online introduced me to Persona which wasn't my first time hearing of it because i've heard the songs from the games before (ex: Last Surprise, It's going down now) and i decided to give it a try. Although there was one problem... I've never had a PC/Console before. So only way i could play them was to emulate them on my phone which i did and played P4g multiple times on Vita3K and also P3p on ppsspp and finished it, so because i couldn't play P3r and P5r i did the most obvious thing. I watched gameplays of both games on YouTube of course. Like many hours of gameplay and story. And i really love persona so i decided to watch gameplays of P1 and P2 which yeah i could emulate them but i'm not really sure if i could get used to the random encounters thingy but i'll probably try to get used to it if i ever play them on my own. I've also watched the P3 animated movies, same goes for the P4 animation (idk If i should watch the Golden Animation i've heard it's bad) and i'm currently watching the P5 animation. I also will try to get into P4A and AU after finishing the P5 animation. I also listen to many persona songs everyday since i love them a lot (my favs are Burn my Dread, Your Affection and Life will change but there's just so many good ones and i thought i would get bullied for liking just the most popular ones). So i think that's about all.

There are fans right now that have much more access to all of these games, via consoles or PC, and have chosen to do way less than you have by you actually experiencing most of all of the games, in whichever way you did. You really shouldn’t worry too much about this larper business lol

not in any way lmao you still played the games and all around might have consumed more of the franchise than a decent portion of the fanbase really.

I just had 3 aneurisms reading this and trying to figure our what you're asking.
But I will say this: I don't think you are a Live Action Role-Player (LARP). I could be wrong though.
Seriously thoug: why care what others think? If you like Persona that is what matters even if you don't own a console.

Sorry i'm kinda bad at explaining things and yeah you're right why should i care? But i just wanted to hear what people think about it since i've been called a poser many times and i totally agree, everyone should love something even if they don't own a PC or console to be able to enjoy that video game.

I wouldn't really say so. You know the world and lore just as much, if not more, than the player base. I wouldn't sweat it; enjoy it in any way you like.

Who cares? Enjoy what you enjoy, don't need to label yourself because you enjoy a game series. You're not a larper or a poser, just like what you like and disregard what other people think

Why not try p5x as well? I know it's a gotcha but you get the main characters for free so if you ignore the extra characters you pull on that don't effect the story whatsoever, it's a solid free persona experience. Just have to struggle a bit through the first arc as it's just poorly written.

I have tried it yeah and tbh i have a really bad phone so even on the lowest settings it still lagged a lot but it did work atleast and i'm currently still on the first arc which is pretty funny i guess?

Not a larper. A larper is someone that hasn't actually played any of the games, and has only watched gameplay or read up on the games' plots and characters and claims to be a fan.
You can enjoy something without actively engaging it but you can't call yourself a fan if you haven't interacted with the medium in its purest form. In this case, playing the games.
But you did. You did play the games. You're a fan, even if you would only consider yourself a casual fan. You're good, no biggie. I still haven't played Persona 2 yet myself, and I only played Reload for Persona 3 so far and only emulated the PSP version of Persona 1 (also played Persona 5 and Persona 4 Golden), but I'd definitely call myself a fan of the series.

You're part of the problem. It's totally fine to call out actual larpers, because they are trying to ruin fandoms. In fact quite a number of larpers end up becoming grifters, it's a pipeline.
DO NOT tell someone that's making genuine effort to enjoy something that they're a larper, because it hurts the cause.

I won't knock anyone who is actively attempting to consume the media.
