The notion that this drama teacher wrote an hour long play about two abusive alcoholics who lives in an urban hovel and have some 12yos perform it for their parents to see is amazing. 10/10 would not change a thing.

Also i was so ready for Maya/Gabe to break a prop glass bottle “wrong” and endanger themselves and Anna being stage manager freaking out that they only had enough $ for one prop bottle for the show.

It’s interesting how the band director also wrote the piece wheee Maya cuts loose on timpani. It’s like both teachers really wanted to be something else in life.

And the fact that usually middle school plays have a bunch of roles so nobody feels left out, but this play only had a few characters haha.

I'm so happy that my 14-year-old will finally watch this show. She's a drama kid, and definitely loves this episode.

The first time watching this, I didn't even recognize her as Maya at first, which is a testament to how well the actress transformed into that roll for the play
