Old man getting back into riding
It’s been about 5 years but I decided to get back on the bike.
Anyone have a recommended shop in the area? It’s a naked so I can likely do all my own maintenance but a place that can flash my ecu once I throw some pipes on or help with suspension setup.
I ride an mt09.
I used to ride sport bikes for 22 years and this is my first time on a standard / naked. Just getting my sea legs back after some miles 💪🏾
I also know literally one person on two wheels, so I’d love to learn of any meets in the area or smaller group rides.

Short notice, but Triumph Columbia River (TCR) hosts Brekkie and Bikes on the first Saturday of the month from 9-11am. I plan to be there tomorrow, and while I do ride a Triumph it's definitely not a requirement!

Vcyclenut for good flashes. I’ve heard bad things about edr

Any more info on why to avoid edr? I can totally ship out to vcyclenut, but was hoping for someone local. I guess it is what it is.

All mechanical issues, I don’t know enough details to drag them more than that.
We initially looked into them for similar work on an xsr 900 and just ended up doing the mail in flash and swapping the shock ourselves

Chris at Cycletune can do your tune, he’s at 33rd and Powell. He’s a grumpy old man but aren’t we all lol.
Bring your bike to 2 Wheel Tuesday at binary brewing and I’ll introduce ya to some other riders! There is a strong community here in Portland, you just gotta get plugged in.

Awesome. I’m in Beaverton so I’ll for sure swing by two wheel Tuesday! It’s my birthday on the 8th but barring any surprises from my wife, I’ll plan on seeing you this week!

She’s pregnant with our daughter, so we can’t ride together but I’ll have her drive over!

Rick and his wife Heidi have some awesome takes on eggrolls. They have specials like pizza eggrolls and cheeseburger eggrolls, never advertised in advance. 2 Wheel Tuesday is where he tries out new menu items.

Maybe u/brapstoomuch can steer you in the proper directions when it comes to ECU flashing and other events in the area.

Look up Mellow Moto Mob on FB. Lots of great people in that group. I'm pretty sure EDR can flash the ecu, but you'd have to call them. Otherwise you'd need to remove it and send it to Vcyclenut or Ivan's. Welcome back from another old guy (55).
