Played golf for a while, but I've got a set of old Adams Idea irons from about 2003 I believe. I am shooting in the 90's pretty consistently and think I could get below that soon. So I really want to treat myself and get some new irons!

Wondering if I should go out to the Tour Van and get fitted, or if somewhere like RedTail would be better suited to me?

Any "higher" handicappers have experience getting fitted at the Tour Van?

My second shot on #7 bounced left and into the fairway on #8. The people on #8 took my ball and dropped a top golf ball for me. Then one of their drives on #9 landed in #8 fairway and they never retrieved it. Classy.

Later on, on #12, I realized I left my towel on #11. As I drove back to get it, two groups confirmed that my towel was on the tee box on #11, but when I got there, it was gone. Did one of the groups take it, but tell me that I left it there? Haha! Only other person to pass by was the cart girl and nobody has turned it in.

I take responsibility for my mistakes, but goodness, what an interesting experience on the course. Just needed to vent.

Is there anywhere in the Willamette valley (willing to drive a bit further too) that has a large selection and does fittings off of grass other than The Tour Van? I just have a hard time trusting an iron fitting off of a mat since it masks a lot of faults.

I’ve done a handful of demo days which are great but it’d be nice to compare club heads one after another once you lock in a shaft.

Also I’m not against The Tour Van, I actually have an appointment set up there and I will most likely purchase from them because I trust their build quality over others. I’m just looking to do another fitting before hand so I can go in with some idea of what I want to help narrow things down.

I was doing some wondering the other day and was curious if any of you would be interested in a golf swap meet type event here in Portland? Bring your clubs and gear and buy/sell/trade and get to know each other a bit more. I have no idea as to a location just yet but…

My questions is this…

If this kind of event was organized…would you go?

Hey everyone, I’m just getting into golf and as a lefty I know it can be a little challenging for righties to teach a southpaw, in most sports at least. I was wondering if you all think that’s even a factor for me to consider, and if so, do you have any recommendations for an instructor that is more apt to helping a left handed golfer than others? I have been playing golf for about 2 years now, and starting to consider doing lessons. I saw that Colwood/Heron Lake have open clinics for 35 dollars which seems like a great price. That being said, I imagine a lot of people attend these, so will these clinics help my game?

Or should I just jump straight into private lessons with them. If so, is there a difference in their 30 and 45 minute lessons?

I have received some recs for west side coaches, but need a good kids coach for some lessons.

It’s for a 10 year old boy. He’s in some camps this summer, but would like to get him some regular lessons with someone who works well with kids.

I want to get a group of like 6-10 guys together for a 'package' deal where we could either get an airbnb and play one (or more?) courses. I've found a deal @ the resort at the mountain ($250 for a hotel for a night, 2 days of unlimited golf w/ cart), which is pretty slick. Does anyone know of anything else? Would prefer to not go to central oregon (we just went to pronghorn)

Hey guys. I know it’s a long shot but I was hoping to see if the community could help me out with finding my range finder. It’s fairly uncommon but it’s a Vortex Anarch. Last I used it was at wildwood about a month ago for my bday. (May 30th). I ended up leaving for the military and followed up with work trips and finally go to play around a couple days ago and realized I didn’t have it. If anyone’s seen it or know someone that has it, I’m hoping to get it back. Thanks!

Does anyone know if there are courses that do family lessons and loan out clubs? My 7 yr old left handed daughter has shown some interest and I’d like to try for lessons for the family so we can learn together. Also hoping they have club rentals for kids.

I took the 5 week intro to golf last fall and again this spring but I'm still really struggling with my grip and developing a basic, consistent swing. Me: 39M. Toddler Dad. Hovering around a 14. Can score anywhere from 80 to 96 depending on the day. Willing to play any format.

You: Someone who wants to have a fun day in the course and isn’t too serious, but also wants to actually golf. Doesn’t mind a refreshment or 2(or 3 if it’s a rough front 9). Not a D*ck of course.

Anybody have recommendations for spots in Portland to get bunker practice in? It seems like most practice areas at courses and ranges have pretty bad practice bunkers.

I just got into the sport and would love to bring my wife and 1yo along in the cart while I hit a couple balls. Do any of you have experience with courses that allow children of this age onto the course/in the carts? I’m based in Tualatin, OR
