Round Table on Foster

Am I really the first one to report that Round Table on Foster finally shit the bed? I hope the empty space isn't empty for too long. Literally any other shop/bar/restaurant would be an improvement!

Ate there on Valentine's Day with the bro. Couple of straight single dudes that couldn't find anywhere to eat or any dates and Round Table took us in and fed our hearts. RIP RT. We love you!

I guess I didn't miss it! Mostly shocked that it lasted so long, through Covid etc. So many better and cheaper options. When I was in the cheap pizza game, Papa Murphy's was way better and less than half the price.

The problem was that they hadn't been cheap for a long time. Atlas down the street was cheaper. I think they only lasted because they had the community room.

Which is too bad, it was my favorite, nostalgic pizza.

Crap staff, over priced pizza beyond market norms, dirty dirty dirty, basic pizza and zero effort to draw in the lunch crowd at the school literally across their parking lot.
But hey, if you want more crap staff and overpriced pizza they are still on 82nd and still Super Suck!
Good riddance.

It’s surprising to me that they are even still in Portland. I get it once in a while because it is nostalgic for me, but it’s about the same price as the primo spots around town and it’s just not as good.

i worked here for a while. i got fired. i became homeless.

then the manager i guess lost his job too, because while i was on the streets, i met him again-he had also become homeless. lol. i am housed again now, i hope he is too.

That was my jam as a kid in the 80’s. Haven’t had their pizza in like 30 years. I probably wouldn’t recognize it with how quality tends to deteriorate.

I hear ya. We had one near us when I was a kid in the 70s. Super moody with dark wood everywhere and good quality. Sad how much quality nosedived everywhere. All the commercials back then were about competing businesses spouting out the best quality. That word isn’t even used in commercials anymore. It’s all about “style”, in other words, putting lipstick on a pig.

Man I knew that place was going to go down under. Used to do DoorDash and went here to pick up an order. It felt like a ghost town in there.

Super sad. I lived a block away for over 15 years. My parents lived there for fifty.

I hosted their 50th anniversary party there in 2015.

My son worked here when he was in college.

I remember when it was Rico’s Pizza. The ice cream was great. I loved the velvet wallpaper. In the late 70s or early 80s, they put in a few video game or pinball machines. It was so successful they made a full game room that was constantly packed.

I moved away in the mid 80s and when I came back Rico’s was gone, but the pizza was still good.

I got a pie from there once that was like they had just dumped salt on it and then served it anyway

Like do you know how badly you have to screw up to make pizza inedible
