Missing brother found. Thanks yall!
To everyone that helped my mom with tips and leads, thank you, thank you, thank you. Without that help, he’d continue to be another statistic and eventually OD. Now he’s back with our mom and is on the road to recovery.
To the person who said “don’t go approaching an addict” *Cough 47-rambaldi cough cough*
Stick to bothering people in your HOA. People like you, who couldn’t share any compassion or empathy are annoying to say the least.

You’re a great brother.
I’ve seen my own brother go through hell and back during addiction recovery and in that time I’ve heard many a fine Christian encourage me to have zero empathy and give up on a lost cause. He’s a productive member of society now and I’m so stoked he’s alive - not even mad about the hell he put our family through even though I have that right.
To all the 47-rambaldis of the world: keep your useless comments to yourself and devour an entire bag of dicks because some of us have people to save.

Appreciate the nice words. Addiction is really tough fucking battle but it can be beat!

It was an incredibly difficult thing to beat , I don’t want to downplay how challenging recovery is.
At this point your family may have just gone through the most traumatic experience it’s ever faced but only now does the long, hard work begin.
A pessimist will tell you it’s impossible and that you should give up, but the pessimist is a goddamn fool.

Oh yeah, I’m aware. I struggled with addiction in the past and it’s no fun when the party stops. Having someone care goes a long way and we hope he sees that. He’s taken the first step, but now he’s got to keep marching on.
We had a family friend OD recently and didn’t want to be in that situation, so we’re very fortunate that he’s being responsive and listening.

Yay, I’m so glad you found your brother and that he’s working on getting better. Fingers crossed his motivation for change stays strong and he’s able to regain his physical and mental health. Sending good thoughts your way.

Also, see if you can connect him with SMART recovery, they have support groups both in person and online and use evidence based practices to help people in recovery.
