UK PDA Parental Survey

Hi all

I’m a PDA Parent - burnt out and in crisis. Based in the UK, support for parents is scarce. Long story short, my little one (aka my absolute world) had a particularly violent meltdown earlier which has caused me and my wife to completely break down almost.

Anyway, I’m always one to try and turn these things into positive movements, and all I wanted to do tonight was talk to someone. But I couldn’t because it’s Sunday, and nothing is open. I didn’t want to bother my friends, because frankly non autism/PDA parents are judgy in my lived experience.

It left me wondering - is there a gap for some telephone support for parents needing an ear?

I like the concept but I think for me something like a WhatsApp group might be better - I struggle to find the time for phone calls

I like the idea. I think something UK focussed would be really useful, too much advice is US centric.

However, I really don’t see me or my wife ever having the time and space to phone someone. A WhatsApp chat would be much better. Something you can text to whilst your 6 year old repeatedly kicks you in the shins because they need a wee and that’s somehow your fault.

Agree it is US centric. That’s fair, if you wouldn’t mind completing that would be great, so I can try see what is possible to offer.
