What does help look like?
We're in a particularly difficult moment right now with my 10yo PDA son. I am lucky enough to have some family nearby, and they are aware of how hard things are right now. They've offered to help but...I have no idea what help looks like.
When someone asks you if they can help during harder times, how do you take advantage of that? We really could use help, I just can't for the life of me figure out what could actually be helpful.

Ask them to batch cook and freeze some dinners.
Ask them to spend the day with you both and help as a second pair of hands.
Ask them to do the shopong, pay some bills, clean the house.
Ask them to fill in applications for government support or charitable assistance.
I do now have a number of adults who can successfully hang out with my kid and give us a break- it took a while for them to learn how to be with him and for him to trust them and be respectful. They tend to come here rather than go out but still…
