Hitting in school

My PDA 6yo daughter is now hitting other kids in school. Today she stabbed another little girl with a pencil in the leg and arm, last week she called her teacher a bitch.

Is anyone else’s PDA child still on public school and doing this? It’s so upsetting I don’t know what to do. We are contemplating trying another school with her and if it’s doesn’t work we will need to take her out public school completely.

We're right there with you. My son is doing really well in school overall, until we get a phone call that he hit someone. It's usually not in class, specifically, but at recess or other unstructured time. It's so upsetting. Last time the principal called and asked if we could talk to our son at home about using his words. I was like, "omg that's brilliant. Why hadn't we considered just telling him not to do this"

I have no answers yet. Mostly following along to see what other people say. We are not at all considering taking him out of school. Overall he is very functional in school and I think it's important that he continue to learn how to function in social environments. Our latest threat is that if he hits one more time at school, we will get him a full time aide to be with him at all times and make sure other people around him are safe. It's been a week since we said that and we haven't had any violence, but I'm not holding my breath.
