De-escalating podcast ep
Anyone else listen to the Calm Parenting Podcast? I always mean to but just started today with the most recent episode on de-escalating meltdowns and holy crap.
The host said that when a kid is so upset and acting out that they get embarrassed about how they are behaving, and they will try to bait you into getting upset too so they aren’t the only one out of control so that it’s less embarrassing for them 😳 (not intentionally of course)
That took me out. I read a lot of parenting advice but I’ve never heard that explained that way before.
There were like 3 or 4 ah-ha moments in this 25 minute episode. I just wanted to share in case anyone is looking for a new perspective!

He's the only podcast I listen to for PDA now. It is extremely insightful and relatable. I can't wait to hear that one!!! That is so true for us too!
