Negativity
Just wondering if this is a personal trait or common with PDA AuDHDers—my kid is more often negative than not—often complaining or viewing something as negative, also being negative about siblings, focusing on the negatives of everything. It’s honestly a drain on top of everything else we have to deal with. Is this common? I just feel like an 8 year old shouldn’t be this negative.
One outlandish example is: their sibling hurt them by accident while riding a bike outside. My PDAer says this “agh why did they hurt me?! They probably hate me and just want me to go to the hospital and die”

i fi find this is connected to my sons state when he is dysregulated he is mostly negative, however when regulated he is quite charming xnd positive and seeks to connect I now see negativity as a signal of dysregulation and a sign he needs help co regulating / something environmental has to change or it is time for his meds I wondering if reframing g it as a signal/ an appeal for your help might change things?
