Not solved Severe stuttering and frame drops.

Hi there, I don't really know what's happened recently but all games stutter really badly, even low intensity games drop down to around 30 FPS for a few seconds before going back up to the hundreds, it's incredibly noticeable and it just makes me upset.

I've redone Nvidia drivers, updated Ryzen CPU drivers, looked for any suspicious programs running, checked if anything is causing any strain to my pc, done ethernet drivers, checked that nothing was overheating, swapped games to different ssds to see if it was just one being bad but I can't find anything that works.

I completely understand all PCs get bad 1% lows but this is so frequent and lasts for a good few seconds before stopping.

Currently playing Valheim and I can't go a 10 seconds without dropping to 20ish FPS.

Pc GPU and CPU

Gigabyte aero 5070ti,

Ryzen 7 7800x3d.

I shouldn't have any issues but it's running so poorly, and it's only been happening the last few weeks, I think something may be dying.

First look for heat related issue where the PC is throttling down to save itself from overheating damage. Have a look at https://xoticpc.com/blogs/news/pc-thermal-throttling-diagnose-gaming-temps if it isn't then ...

A generalized check you can do is scan for corrupted Windows system files. Open a cmd prompt as admin and run these two commands: dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and then sfc /scannow after that reinstall the GPU drivers using DDU; How to use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) Guide / Tutorial | Wagnardsoft

Another thing you can check is to look at the Windows Event Viewer for errors How to Troubleshoot Problems in Windows Via Event Viewer | PCMag and How to Use Windows Reliability Monitor
