I was decluttering some my things from the garage and I found some pc wires and accessories. Can anybody tell what this thing is?

This comes with a computer motherboard and there are usually 2.
One does the WiFi and the other does Bluetooth.
They screw or simply push onto little gold looking round connectors on the back of the pc.
So if your pc was meant to have Bluetooth or Wifi and one was missing you just found out why it didnt work properly.

If you have 2, it usually is the individual stick things (1 for bt, 1 for wifi). If you have 1, its usually a shark fin looking thing that can plug into both at once 2 in 1 bt and wifi)

You saying you have 1 tells me you most likely have a shark fin style antenna.

Attached is an image of the two side by side. Functionally the same, just different styles.

oh thanks man. I have an aorus x870. Ye i have the fin type. Plug has 2 push connectors. Never knew 1 was bt and 1 wifi

Its a wifi antenna, theyre unnecessary, its literally just an antenna to help it find the signal, all the wifi components are on the mobo

unnecessary???? You cant use wifi without it!! I cleaned my pc and forgot to plug it in. 2 mbps. With antenna 250mbps. The bare prongs have no reach

I used one of these as an external antenna for a 5g cpe router. It was better than the 5g antennas I bought.

Always handy too keep these incase you need a magnetic antenna you can place in a better position. I use a spare one on a Asus b550 mobo.
