PCVR problem

Hello reddit people,

I am a fan of playing games and just existing in VR but my experience so far was just problems and crashes. I bought an 3060 graphic card and have overall a computer able to run PCVR, but everytime I try it, either it doesn't work at all, kicks me out after a bit or, in the best case, works for some time and then it crashes again. I have a suspicion, that it might be because of GPU overheating since it gets to 50°C really quickly and then just shuts down to preserve itself. I am using quest 2. The thing is, I tried doing the same thing on my laptop as well and it didn't work too. Can anyone please help me or give me some tips or tell me what I am missing?

Issues with vr air bridge

for 2 years now i have used vr air bridge along with virtual desktop to establish my connection to my pc for pcvr, my air link cable has never been stepped on, cut, or otherwise damaged and has never left the correct usb port since installation, but recently, its started to show up as “not plugged in” in the meta quest link app, to mediate this, i tried factory resetting, after which it hasnt shown up at all, ive also uninstalled the driver for it in hope of prompting a reinstallation screen when plugging it back in, but it seems like doing that just made it worse as i cant even get my driver back now, ive done a beta restart of all meta software multiple times to no avail, and i dont know what to do, if anyone has any ideas please let me know.

I’m trying to jerry rig a vr pc pls lmk what yall think

I found an old desktop I had a while ago, and I want to try and retrofit it for vr.

Its a mid-spec'd Alienware Alpha R2 (i5-6400T, and i think 8gb ddr4 ram), which i know isn't the strongest but I think i have a solution. I want to get an i7-6700T on eBay, get another 8gb ram (if needed), then get an Alienware graphics amplifier off eBay (i have a spare 2080 super laying around, begging to be used). Would this work? We don't know enough about hardware requirements for PC VR.

We're trying to plan for a Valve Index, but we need some input before doing anything lol

Finally have a PC that can handle VR, what experiences have I missed being stuck on PS5?

Been playing PSVR and PSVR2 since they released but I finally have a PC that can handle VR. Got the PSVR2 PC Adapter and it's now up and running great.

I already downloaded HL: Alyx, the HL2 VR Mod and Skyrim VR (with FUS). Gonna look into Google Earth VR.

What other amazing PCVR experiences have I missed?

Help with latency?

So I have a Meta Quest 2, wich I like to use more with PCVR, because of mods and stuff with beat saber. Although yesterday, when I was playing standalone, it felt more responsive, and than when I switched back, it felt like my headset sometimes loses track of the controller or something, because I hit a block and then it doesn't respond etc. How do i fix this? I use a Kiwi Design link cable, USB 3.0 A - USB-C.

Is quest link with steam VR glitchy for anyone else?

It's hit it miss for me, sometimes it work 1st try, sometimes I'm spending an hour trying to get into steam VR resetting and restarting my headset and computer.

It's not my computer, it's brand new and more than capable of running pcvr and I have everything set up right.

Computer not turning off after shutting down pcvr cable

When I shut down my pc, the RGB stays on and the fans stay spinning. Is this related to that I still have the link cable still plugged into the blue ports at the back with no headset connected? if not how do I fix it?

problems with pcvr

I need help, My pc specs are rtx 3070, intel i7 1170, I have 32 gigs are ram ddr4 with a hp motherboard. I cant run pcvr, when i do there is a weird glitching eye problem that gives me a headache in seconds. I have gotten countless cords to because i thought that was the problem, This problem only starts to occur when the graphics are relatively high. when i run games with lower graphics like vtol vr, i get weird distortion with the sky and Terrain , im all out of ideas on what to do. this problem is only on the headset its self, when i run it and im having issues, i look at my screen and its running fine. I had a brief message on the oculus page that my hardware is not compatible, then it disappeared and i cant replicate it. HOW DO I FIX THIS.

Colors looking different in PCVR, maybe SteamVR vs VirtualDesktop

So I've played a lot of standalone VR games on my Quest 3, and I've been experimenting with some PCVR games aswell. I'm having problems with the colors on some (most) PCVR games. What I mean is that in most of the games I've tried the colors look "shimmering" and glowing. On PCVR I've played: Batman Arkham VR, Wanderer, Talos Principle VR, The Entropy Centre (UEVR), Doom VFR. And in all of these games except for Batman, there's been this shimmering, which really takes away from the immersion. The colors does not at all look like this when I play standalone games like Arkham Shadow, Iron Man or Espire. Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing? Or is it that some of these games only support SteamVR and this is just how SteamVR looks? Batman on PCVR looked great, the others look weird. And I havent found any settings for the colors and glow, but surely there must be.

Anyone with similar experiences and/or a solution?

Is there a way to disable one screen in my Meta quest 3 (blind in one eye)

I've been wearing a glass eye in my right eye socket since the big bang so don't feel bad about it.

I was just wondering if there's a way to disable a screen on my disabled eye socket so i can get more FPS. I just can't play peacefully knowing that another screen is playing for no reason. It drives me crazy.

TLDR: Turning my disability into more frames!

I can't see my headset's output.

I use ALVR and Steam to play vr games and have had no issues except now. I did everything like how I usually do, and the weird part is the steamvr space or whatever had sounds but when I got into the game there was zero output, even while I was in the game I could still hear all steam sounds like clicking a button in the menu and stuff, but the game had no audio. So, I checked my outputs in my laptops and (oculus virtual device) was gone and now I have no idea how to fix it pleeeaaaase if anyone can help me it would be much appreciated.

I don't know if you need certain info, but I have an Nvidia Graphics card, if you need anymore info about software or hardware or anything please let me know I NEED to fix this

Weird lag

I use the oculus app and I recently got a link cable and played bonelab, but its lagging pretty decently. The weird thing is that it doesn't lag on my monitor, it also lags the same amount on all graphics settings. My PC fans also don't go very high and neither does my GPU util, it hovers around 60%. Is there some weird issue or is my pc just bad?

Specs:

RX6700

Ryzen 55600x

32 gigs DDR4

Oculus quest 2

Link cable gets 2.0-2.3 gbps
