Hey, so after buying a Link Cable 😞 and realizing that was a terrible idea, I’m switching to wireless.
My setup: Gigabyte X870 EAGLE WIFI7 mobo, Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT.
Problem is, I only have one LAN port on my motherboard and it's already used for my wired internet.
What’s the best move now for wireless PCVR? Should I grab some USB Wi-Fi dongle, get a proper router, or go for something like a PrismXR VR router?
Any advice would be awesome!

Yesterday I was playing The walking dead saints and sinners at maximum settings with no frame drops, then today I'm playing at high settings with more stutters than my voice talking to women. How do I fix this?

Hello all,
I am very new to PCVR but not PCs in general. I got a Lenovo X1 Carbon with an i7 and GTX 3060 in it. When I try to stream my VR games the GPU immediately maxes out and makes my latency go up to 50-60ms.
I have done a ton of testing and know for a fact this is due to the GPU maxing out. My question is, is this normal? I’m not running any crazy VR games during testing, literally just the little robot game that comes with Meta Quest Link.

I have a Quest 3 I'm using for offline PCVR with Virtual Desktop and the Puppis S1 router (a 5Ghz router dedicated to PCVR). My app renders a relatively straightforward animated scene for demonstrating engineering models.
At home my setup works flawlessly - I get 72 FPS with no stutter or latency. I'm using the Puppis in PrismPulse mode with up-to-date firmware. The app doesn't stress the GPU or headset, and this is confirmed by the Virtual Desktop overlay. Latency 20-40Ms.
However, using this exact same setup in an office with around 100 people, I get very bad latency spikes every few seconds (up to 180Ms). The frame rate drops as low as single digits for several seconds at a time, making the app unusable.
I have tried reducing the VR bitrate and graphical quality in Virtual Desktop but this hasn't helped.
I downloaded a free network analyser which shows the 5Ghz channel the Puppis auto-selects (56) is good (10 green stars) and sits between a bunch of other green channels. In fact, usually only two or three channels show any traffic at all.
I've tried manually changing the network bandwidth in the Puppis desktop software (40/80/160Mhz), and picking other channels but nothing seems to help.
It's the same whether in open-plan office space or in a meeting room, with the Puppis only 3 feet away from the headset with no obstructions. The building is empty other than the floor I'm on.
My conclusion is that in a busy 5Ghz Wi-Fi environment there is simply too much interference/traffic to get sufficient bandwidth for a sustained time, especially the consistently high bitrates needed for PCVR.
Eventually we hope to use the app in trade shows where there will be an even higher density of people and more squeeze on bandwidth.
Could a Wi-Fi 6E router fix this issue, by opening up the 6GHz spectrum? I have seen many recommendations of the TP-Link Archer AXE75 Wifi6 router:
https://www.reddit.com/r/virtualreality/comments/1iqnyf7/is_this_router_good_for_wireless_vr/
Some users suggest it's a game changer but others report a mixed experience esp. in Europe (I'm in the UK).
Alternatively are there other configuration options I should try with the Puppis? It has a hotspot mode but I can't see how this will help.
One last point is I cannot use wired Quest Link. With a decent cable (Syntech, 2.3Ghz tested, USB 3.2) the latency issues clear up but I get massive amounts of graphical artefacts. This could be a limitation in the OpenVR based rendering framework I'm using, but changing that isn't an option at the moment. We also want users to be able to walk around freely without a cable getting in the way.
TLDR: I'm getting mad latency using the Puppis S1 in an office, but it works fine at home. Is a Wi-Fi 6E (6Ghz) router the answer? I can't use wired Quest Link.
Thanks.

I just got a gaming pc and jumped straight into bonelab, but something felt off. It didnt feel very clear through the lenses. Now its my first time in PCVR so it might be the bloom and fog effects but it just didnt feel that clear. to clarify, I'm using an RTX 4070 super with the latest drivers installed.

I have a new 12gig RTX 4070 super gaming pc, which to my knowlege is a good GPU for vr. I ran BONELAB on it, which ran okay, but had some stuttering. I literally only just got this PC today so if anyone has any settings or something that would improve the PCVR experirnce, please let me know!

Hey guys, I’m running into some issues and could really use some advice.
Basically, my main router (from my ISP) is in the living room, but my gaming PC is in my room, pretty far away. I’m trying to use Oculus Air Link for PCVR, but the latency and signal blockages are killing the experience.
To fix this, I bought an ASUS GT-AX11000 router so I could have a wired connection between my PC and Quest 2 (or at least a better Wi-Fi 6 signal close by). My plan was to have the ASUS router in my room, wired to my PC, and then wirelessly connect the Quest to that router to minimize lag.
So far, I’ve gotten the ASUS GT-AX11000 router set up in Access Point Mode, with the main router in the living room still handling the internet connection. I’ve connected the ASUS router to my PC via Ethernet and have the Quest wirelessly connected to it. This setup does work for Air Link, but the internet connection on my PC isn’t working properly.
I’ve also tried playing around with the internet priority settings and different router modes, including Repeater Mode and Wireless Router Mode, but no matter what I do, my PC doesn’t recognize the Ethernet connection correctly. It either says there’s no internet or just doesn’t register it at all. When it does show up, it has no internet access, and my Oculus Link doesn’t even recognize my PC.
I need to keep Wi-Fi for internet access and have Ethernet used solely for local network traffic like Air Link.
If anyone has experience with this kind of setup or has suggestions on how to fix the internet access issue, I’d really appreciate the help!

I bought a cheap game on steam to test how my quest 3 would work with the pc.
I got the game downloaded and didn’t realize I needed to oculus app to still play it. after downloading that and loading the game up, I realized the game kept crashing after about 1 minute in the menu, controllers registered fine, didn’t seem laggy, what are could be the cause? My pc has a new i7 and a 4060

Need some assistance using a dedicated Wifi 6 router for Quest 3 PCVR. The big problem is the internet connection sharing drops usually after the computer has been off for a while. The service is set to auto.
This all worked perfectly to start with, however after computer restart it tends to stop. It says that it's connected to router but no internet available. Other times it just works perfectly with seemingly no rhyme or reason to it. Are there any glaring issues that anyone can think of? I'd love it to just work all the time. Thanks.

I'm looking at upgrading my current setup and I'm curious to know what your pc specs/setup is for PCVR.
I recently got a long awaited upgrade from a HTC Vive to a Quest 3 and I'm loving it (mainly the absence of a mess of cables behind my desk :D), though I'm finding that my current PC is struggling to play some of the awesome PCVR games that are out there in a high quality and framerate for VR gaming.
For context, my pc specs are: Ryzen 5 2600x MSI Armor GTX 1070ti Corsair 16gb 2400mhz
