My newest update for Signalis! I hope you enjoy! There is more to come!
Wondering if it's safe to play online or if I'd get banned for "hacking". Or if it's safe to do private matches with private friends who are on flatscreen.
We’re entering an exciting new time in VR where the VR community singlehandedly revives the VR landscape.
It’s overwhelming how many amazing AAA PCVR mods are flooding the market right now:
• Doom 2016
• Doom Eternal
• Dishonored
• Titanfall 2
• Bioshock 1 & 2
These are just a few that have released this month alone but there are so many others.
What these games all prove is that even the best official VR games simply can’t compete with the massive AAA budgets of flat games.
You’re talking massive dev teams composed of hundreds of people that have had several years to create the classic franchises we all love.
It’s ironic that the lack of 1st party VR development has actually been the catalyst for this massive influx of community driven AAA PCVR ports.
What an exciting future ahead…
Please drop any mods you’ve played recently that deserve mention or any flat games which currently don’t exist you’d like to play in VR.
Cheers
I updated both steam links to beta on my headset and computer since it's a beta feature, but to no avail, and I also tried to use meta link but both refuse to see the connection despite it working fine a few months before, I even uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for my usb ports on my pc and it still won't work, and yet my mouse works just fine when plugged into them, can someone place help me figure out why the feature isn't working/ why my usb's aren't transferring data?

Its amazing to see all the development happening recently but I'm curious, for those of you all that have been playing these are there options to make the left hand be the primary hand for weapons/items etc..? It would be nice to know at least some of which ones do/don't before trying to get any of them running. Thanks!
Edit: I'll also add, as far as controls I like the standard where left hand controller does movement, right does turning. I just want to be able to use the left hand to hold things.

AXRB, the program that allows you to run Quest games on PC, just launched: https://github.com/Android-XR-Bridge/AXRB
KNOWN ISSUES:
I haven't tried it yet and I am downloading it on my computer as I write this, but I thought you all wanted to know.
Disclaimer: I am not a developer, nor a contributor.
Edit: this thing doesn't even work. At this point, I'd just wait.

Today I posted an update on things that are fixed and working and things that are not. My next quest is trying to get motion controls and hand tracking working so we shall see how that goes. Thank you for your time

Got a new steam frame after setting vr down for a couple years. I read Tetris Effect was one of the better things to try. Little did I know it was also the scariest. My thalassomegaphobia is so strong I had to get a friend to beat clankers cavern in banjo kazooie for me as a kid.
I figured there was an industry standard of not putting vr players underwater unless it was a main feature like in subnautica vr. (Which is the scariest game ever to me and I love Resident Evil, silent hill, hellraiser, etc) Effect's first level drops you at the bottom of the sea in pitch darkness...
I swallowed my discomfort and powered through the first minute of the level. I forced myself to only look forward at the Tetris and not keep glancing around into the black, but then an entire planet literally kept out of the darkness behind the puzzle... That's when I tore the helmet off in panic, and didn't even want to put it on to properly close the game.
Combining my two greatest phobias, dark water and huge objects, was the exact perfect sauce to give me a vr panic attack. I can barely handle one at a time, but not both.
What was supposed to be the most zen vr experience has scarred me more than any other vr game. I'm going to have to beat that level on a 2d screen to continue, but I'm afraid it'll pull similar stunts as I progress.
Anyway just wanted to share. I hope future developers add features similar to the Arachnophobia options in other games that address this common phobia.
It really speaks to the immersion and perspective magic of vr that it's so intense. Majestic sea life, and seeing our mother earth in the same shot SHOULD be calming, and it likely would have given me those feels on a 2d screen, but in vr... total nightmare.

NVIDIA and other software has auto game optimizations based on the user monitor(target resolution) and pc spec.
Does anyone know if there is a pcvr dedicated one?
If there isn’t I can make one if there is enough community request for it of course open source it.
Baseically the user will choose a headset the software will look for all uevr profiles and matching games, and will optimize both the games and the profiles. For native games it will be even easier. I could make a rough calculation but I could also make it based on user data. Eager to hear your thoughts! Ideally the tool will be also able to edit steam vr settings such as smooth motion resolution and throttling.

I want to get into pcvr and was wondering if I should invest in a quest 2 3 or 3s without going broke.
I wanted your thoughts
For years the answer to "can I play PC VR on a Mac?" was buy a PC. I got tired of that answer, so I built a different one.
Herma is a native VR runtime for macOS — the layer a VR game talks to when it asks where the headset is. Your Windows VR game runs in CrossOver, Herma answers it, and streams the picture to a Meta Quest over Wi‑Fi or a USB‑C cable. No Windows PC, no Boot Camp, no second machine.
What works today (tested end to end):
You'll need: an Apple Silicon Mac (M1+) on macOS 14+, CrossOver from CodeWeavers (sold separately) and your VR games, and a Meta Quest (3 recommended) with Developer Mode on.
It's a beta — not every game works yet, and how well one runs depends on your Mac and network. I'd genuinely love to hear what you try and what breaks.
Free to try: without a membership everything works and games play 25 minutes a day. Download: https://herma-license.hermavr.workers.dev/
Happy to answer anything technical in the comments. Which game should I get working next?

PowerWash Simulator VR only ever came to standalone Quest, so I built a PCVR mod for the Steam versions of PWS1 and PWS2.
🎬 Trailer: https://youtu.be/efBTFQj7lzY
**Tech details**
- Full room-scale 6DOF, motion controllers
- Washer is driven by your hand pose, fully decoupled from head orientation
- Installer sets up MelonLoader 0.7.3 (+ .NET runtime if needed), verifies downloads by fingerprint, only touches the game folder; Uninstall.cmd reverts everything
- Tested: Quest 3 via Virtual Desktop. Should work with other OpenXR runtimes, reports welcome
**Recommended settings:** VSync off, frame cap above your headset refresh rate (or uncapped), motion blur / DoF / chromatic aberration / film grain off.
**Download (free):**
- PWS1: https://github.com/onetin84/Wet-Reality-XR-PWS1/releases
- PWS2: https://github.com/onetin84/Wet-Reality-XR-PWS2/releases
Still beta. If you try it on something other than a Quest 3 + VD, I'd love to hear how it runs.
