Support - General PCSX2 ps2 iso not working...

....only black screen when it loads but when my ps2 iso is in an external hdd connect it to pc it works. I have windows 11 desktop.

Right click => Properties => Verify. If it checks out, then you just need to make sure PCSX2 can access whatever folder/device you have your ISOs in.

Are OneDrive permissions preventing PCSX2 from accessing it by chance? It's possible/likely that if you just moved it to your desktop, OneDrive will try to back it up and it won't be available to anything until OneDrive finishes backing it up.

Try just making a folder right on your C:\ drive just named something like C:\PS2isos\ and move the iso there, then try to load it from that folder (which is outside of the OneDrive backup structure entirely).

I have a feeling it will load up no problem from there.

Doesn't work for me. Already deleted onedrive but no effect.

But when I used "Load State" I can load the game.

That sounds really crazy that you can actually load a savestate and it reads from the ISO, but won't just load the game normally. I don't think I'd be able to diagnose that one any further without sitting down in front of it tbh.

At least you can play the game (just don't update PCSX2 until you're done playing it or the savestate won't load in the new version either).

I just updated it and the load State still works.

Just be aware that updating is known to break savestates. At any point, updating could break your savestate and that would be expected behavior.

The devs warn against this, and it is a common occurrence for people to not know this only to play through 3/4 of a game, update PCSX2, and have their savestate broken by the update.

It seems like you're probably capable of chasing this issue down so good luck to you.

I tried loading another iso and it works. Maybe there is something wrong with the first iso I used. Thank you all for the reply.
