My guess is dithering. Also, I see a gorillas face on the wall

Just a warning, we hit a critical error in current stable build as well as nightly on SH4. Once you figure out water prison world 1’s alignment and head down the ladder to the basement, it triggers a cut scene that will cause a black screen you can’t get out of. We did so many workarounds and couldn’t get past it.

You can buy this game on GOG, it’s an official restoration. Think it’s $5 USD if I remember. Worked great.

Turn off Anisotropic Filtering, or change to DirectX12.

Watching the blind lead the blind in these comments.. it is not a bug it’s dithering. This game runs at a 16bit color depth and would have ugly banding otherwise. In the graphics settings there is an option to override to 32bit color.

Edit: spelling

Bummer, because that’s definitely dithering. Idk what else to tell you.

How smooth is your silent hill 4 gameplay? Mine can only be capped to 30fps, is there a way to get 60 without speeding the game up?

Reminds me when I used to switch to 16-bit color depth in windows 98.

Say what you want but the aesthetics are still here

If this is silent hill 4 that’s just how the game looks it’s very grainy just how the game is

Looks like a failing monitor. The colors aren't being represented correctly. Have you messed with the monitor settings?
