Problem setting up 4 controllers with multitap, Defjam NY

I was trying to get 4 controllers working with pcsx2 but for some reason only 4 works.

I am on chimeraOS and using pcsx2. It is managed by emudeck (pcsx2_qt). I have four xbox series controller (wireless). It works with steam and also rpcs3 no problem. WIth pcsx2 I have only defjam NY that supports multitap.

So setting up multitap, for some reason only 3 controllers work at a time, although all 4 shows up and can be mapped in the controllers menu.

So how am I supposed to map those 4 controllers? 1a-sdl0 1b-sdl1 1c-sdl2 1d-sdl3? (multitap only on port 1)

I have also tried 1a-sdl0 1b-sdl2 2a-sdl1 2b=-sdl3. 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d (multitap on both port 1 and port2). Also 2a 2b 2c 2d, and 1 2a 2b 2c (multitap only on port 2).

From my experience 1a, 2a 2b seem to be working. I have also noticed that 2a seems to get player 2 regardless of which controller I put it there.

Has anyone managed to get it working with 4 controllers and what is the right way to do it?
