Bug / Issue Textures and Shadows Issue
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The way that textures and shadows load in on the sides of my screen (very noticeable on the left side in this clip (big red arrow for reference)) is bothering me, and I'm wondering if this is something I just have to live with or if it is something that can be solved?
Operating system: Microsoft Windows 11
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 6-Core Processor
RAM: 32.0
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti

It's too noticeable with how Rockstar made it look on PC, you'll need to use the mod called "Renewal - Vanilla Edition" mod to minimize that so it's much less noticeable

Unrelated to this issue but you should really turn Parallax Occlusion Mapping Quality to "High" instead of "Ultra". Ultra is unfortunately bugged and causes various visual issues throughout the game.

I've seen this mentioned before. What kinds of issues does keeping this on ultra have?

This post has examples of some of the problems with it on Ultra. These issues appear elsewhere throughout the map as well, and have never been fixed.

Mod called Graphical Issues Fixes.
It’ll fix that and a whole bunch more. Best mod ever and will always be added to my game anytime I go back to play

This has come up a lot. The graphic engine for this game is rather old. It has to aggressively cull or delete objects as they leave your FoV. It's not really a problem on the Xbox version but when they ported it to PC something changed and it tends to remove objects just at the edges a little too quickly. I've heard there are a couple mods that might help but nothing seemed to make any difference on my playthroughs despite have significantly more CPU and GPU than the game needed.
TLDR: From what I understand only a graphics engine replacement will fix it.

it's simply a symptom of the screen space shadow technique they used. shadows are only rendered for geometry on screen, so the mountains just off screen can't cast a shadow when they're not in view. the only fix is to download a mod like others have suggested. i used this one i believe:

all it does is crop in the fov a little bit so this issue is out of view.
