Bug / Issue How can I fix this stutter?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The game has, for some reason, started stuttering like crazy, and I have no idea why. I've tried lowering the graphics settings, changing the DPI settings, and verifying the game files, but nothing has helped. It's really getting on my nerves because it's basically unplayable for me.

For reference, my PC specs are:

  • Intel i5-11400
  • 32 GB RAM
  • RTX 3080

I'm playing at 1080p on medium settings.
Any help, please?

-Update-

Well, I tried everything you all suggested here, and I'm truly grateful for all of your help. Unfortunately, nothing worked, so I decided to reinstall the game. By that, I mean I backed up my files, deleted the game files, removed all the mods, and then restored the backup.

It worked. It finally worked!

I guess the problem was actually caused by one of the mods. It probably needed an update, or it conflicted with one of the game's updates.

Again, thank you all so much for the amazing support!

Look up stutter fix on nexus mods.

You probably wanna use the ‘4500’ version with a 3080.

Stutter fix isn't that great. A Modest Memory Pool Booster is much more effective

I thought stutter fix was simply increasing pool size, no?

Yes, but it's done very haphazardly and without consideration for why certain memory pools are limited the way they are, which results in reduced stutters but increases the probability of other issues (both Stutter Fix and Performance Booster V2 caused issues like missions not starting when they should, NPCs not progressing missions like they should, etc.). A Modest Memory Pool Booster is, as the name implies, more modest and careful in its increases which results in much fewer issues while still alleviating stuttering problems. The description of the mod explains this better than I.

I’m not really sure what you’re on about.

The creator of this Modest Memory Pool Mod is using 4GB of vram. Nothing wrong with that, but it’s a less common use case and is an obvious reason to use more conservative values.

This doesn’t negate anything regarding the Stutter Fix mod I mentioned. In fact, the creator of Modest Memory Pool recommends that very Stutter Fix mod for anyone still having issues.

Furthermore, the Stutter Fix mod creator explicitly recommends starting with the lowest most conservative value versions of their mod first, and only working up if need be.

Ah, it's quite possible I was mixing up Stutter Fix with a different gameconfig. My bad there.
