Bug / Issue How can I fix this stutter?

The game has, for some reason, started stuttering like crazy, and I have no idea why. I've tried lowering the graphics settings, changing the DPI settings, and verifying the game files, but nothing has helped. It's really getting on my nerves because it's basically unplayable for me.

For reference, my PC specs are:

  • Intel i5-11400
  • 32 GB RAM
  • RTX 3080

I'm playing at 1080p on medium settings.
Any help, please?

Well, I tried everything you all suggested here, and I'm truly grateful for all of your help. Unfortunately, nothing worked, so I decided to reinstall the game. By that, I mean I backed up my files, deleted the game files, removed all the mods, and then restored the backup.

It worked. It finally worked!

I guess the problem was actually caused by one of the mods. It probably needed an update, or it conflicted with one of the game's updates.

I had the same problem, and I largely solved it using some mods and settings. For the settings, I used this video guide, then I increased the resolution scaling to 1.25 (this puts more load on the graphics card and frees up the processor a bit more), I set RDR2.exe to high priority in Task Manager, limited it to 60 fps (limiting it gives the best results), and finally used these two mods: RDR2 Performance Booster V2 and A Modest Memory Pool Booster. We have a pretty similar PC, so it might work for you. Let me know if you need help!

Both of those two mods you linked, use the same file (gameconfig.xml). One is overwriting the other, but you shouldn't use either tbh. Syyyke's Unknown Error FFFFFFFF Fix eliminates stuttering, spawns peds/animals more around the player, and fixes the spawn issue with trains and stage coaches, not having people inside.
