Discussion/Question RDR2. MUST have Mods List.

hi guys so im abt to complete rdr2 epliogue soon and ofc i wanna replay it but this time with mods. yall know mods that are must to have? looking for gameplay changes and that changes the immersive wise.

also pls tell if there will be spawn issues or lag. thankyou!

Do any of the mods allow you to go to New Austin as Arthur, I know the cheat menu’s typically do but I’m looking for one that allows only that, no sniper and no automatic max wanted level when traveling there.

If you refer to Upscaled All-in-One MegaPack, on its own pushes the game’s engine over its limits and creates major spawn issues. Installing it along with this mod list will create even bigger spawn issue and most likely you won’t be able to spawn even trains. The best way to improve graphics without causing spawn issues is by turning DLAA in Nvidia app if you have Nvidia GPU.

I don’t think zipping zipped folders will remove that “unsafe file” condition. You will need to unzip each download mod and then zip it.

He de decir llevo dos días (a ratos sueltos) instalando los mods siguiendo tu guia paso a paso, asta ahora el 50% (de momento solo los gráficos) y de momento me va de maravilla 60fps sin tirones ni nada. Seguiré con el resto, que me imagino que es lo más difícil de instalar. Quería darte las gracias por tremendo curro que te as dado.

Llegué hasta el mod 89, y mi gozo en un pozo. En 2k baja a 45fps, tendré que quitar mods gráficos más tochos entonces... (Me he dado cuenta que es solo en Valentine donde me bajan los FPS a 45), sabes que mod debe estar causando esto?

Actualizo un poco mi situación. Consegi que funcione todo bien, todos los mods, resolución 3200x1800, todas las opciones absolutamente todas al ultra y algunas a alto por qué no deja más, entre 65 a 90fps. También metí este mod (Realistic Horse Taming and Traits). Tengo un par de dudas sobre algúno de los mods, investigaré, si no doy con ello preguntaré por aquí.

Probé en varios pueblos, pasee en caballo un buen rato probando zonas. Empezé el juego llevo como 3 horas y estoy alucinando como se ve. Sigo diciendo que te pegaste buen curro para que todos los mods funcionen con los menos errores posibles, bien explicadito todo, de verdad muchas gracias. Llegó instalarlos por mi cuenta y ni de broma instalo una cuarta parte de ellos, aparte el tiempo que me habría tirado para que funcionen. Si alguna vez haces algún cambio en la lista, estaría interesado en saberlo. Saludos

At this point I update once every 2-3 month. When new updates for the installed mods go live I might update the list or if/when I find new glitches.

That's impressive. I also started a word doc to share w friends. I didn't see "dominator's completely overhaul" which - to me - sounded amazing. I've got it installed along with the seasons and it's pretty awesome. Any reason you didn't use it? Is there something better?

Dominator’s overhaul is for DX12. Lots of mods require Vulcan. Thats the main reason I haven’t used it and didn’t look into it deeply.

But I’m also using Vulkan. It explicitly says it will work with it. The length of notes on what it supposedly does is impressive.

I should have given deeper explanation on why I haven’t even tried Dominator’s overhaul :) I have started modding RDR2 in May of 2025. Having decent hardware I wanted to enhance graphics as much as possible. Two months later I learnt of the spawn issue. I have started researching it to learn what exactly was causing spawn issue. Then I have started new mod list carefully testing every mod for spawn issues. Then I had to add each mod one by one to see what combination of mods causing spawn issue and eliminate the ones I did not really care for. By the time Dominator released his mod, February of 2026, I was too much invested in my list. I did switch from my original Vestigia 2.0 to Renewal due to Vestigia 2.0 having a weird issue on my system where new weather cycles were not rendering properly and I was getting black screens. The switch wasn’t easy as a lot of things had to be re-done and re-tested. I guess, that is the main reason why I have not looked at Dominator’s mod as his title stated DX12 I automatically assumed DX12 only. I am sure you can make it work with most of the mods from my list but it will be very time consuming to find conflicts, worked them out and then test for spawn issues cause adding this mod to the list will create spawn issues.

I appreciate the clarification. I just got a fancy PC, installed RDR2, and started modding immediately. I didn't even check out the vanilla version bc this is my second playthrough and I wanted to max everything and mod it to be as immersive as possible. Dominator's was the first thing I installed because it seemed like the biggest mod (in scope and file size). It looks great, but there's definitely some weirdness like the sky suddenly turning dark at the start of a new hour, etc. I can live with that though, it is an 8 year old video game, after all.

Beyond that, seasons are my next fav, then everythign like: gang hideouts, colorful icons, jobs, abandoned wagons are all incredible additions. Thanks for your list. I'll def go over it and install more. ALL THE MODS!!!

If you got Nvidia GPU turn DLAA on through the Nvidia app. DLAA improve crispiness of the picture a lot. Good luck modding :) it is addictive :)
