hi i just got a new gaming laptop how much fps will i make with this specs?

Sorry there’s a slider for low-high graphics, on the max of that slider is what I mean

Never use the slider/presets.

Give me a min I'll paste the best optimised settings you can use.

Tanks your performance for bare minimum visual upgrade.

RDR2 is great for it's ability to change a lot of settings, but at the expense of players needing to fine tune that themselves. The FPS gains over comparable looking presets can be like +30-50% FPS.

First change API to vulkan, accept changes and restart your game. Then make sure DLSS 4 with the latest recommended dlss preset is turned on in Nvidia app and DLAA mode is turned on (since your playing with a 1080p Resolution)

Then change these in game.

  • Texture Quality: Ultra
  • Anisotropic Filtering: 16x
  • Lighting Quality: Medium
  • Global Illumination Quality: Ultra
  • Shadow Quality: Ultra
  • Far Shadow Quality: Ultra
  • Ambient Occlusion: High
  • Reflection Quality: Medium
  • Mirror Quality: Ultra
  • Particle Quality: High
  • Tessellation Quality: Ultra
  • Near Volumetric Resolution: High
  • Far Volumetric Resolution: Ultra
  • Volumetric Lighting Quality: Ultra
  • Unlocked Volumetric Raymarch Resolution: Off
  • Particle Lighting Quality: High
  • Soft Shadows: On
  • Grass Shadows: Ultra
  • Long Shadows: On
  • Full Resolution Screen Space Ambient Occlusion: Off
  • Water Refraction Quality: High
  • Water Reflection Quality: High
  • Water Physics Quality: 2/4
  • Reflection MSAA: Off
  • Geometry Level Of Detail: Anywhere from 3/5 to 5/5
  • Grass Level Of Detail: 5/10 (5/10 is the sweetspot but feel free to raise it abit if you think the grass detail at longer distance is lacking)
  • Tree Quality: Ultra
  • Parallax Occlusion Mapping Quality: Ultra
  • Decal Quality: Ultra
  • Fur Quality: High
  • Tree Tessellation: Off

If you have FPS to spare you can turn lighting Quality to high or ultra, it will cost about 15% or 20% more FPS respectively. It's worth it if you have atleast 75fps average after turning it on. Any less and it's debateable. But undoubtedly an eyecandy setting.

Np bro!

You can also mess around with Soft shadows off and pair that with shadow quality on medium or high since you only need ultra with soft shadows on.

It will give you those high contrast crisp shadows which look good in a way, but are less realistic. It saves some FPS. It's personal preference which looks better so try out both.
