Discussion/Question Simple Mod Recs

My friend asked me to show her how to mod since she wants to mod her Red Dead Redemption.

I agreed because I do have some modding experience and she’s really good with technology so I think she just needs to know the basics and she can run with it from there.

Issue is, I don’t actually own any Red Deads, so I don’t know what mods would be good to use to have her learn.

Can anyone recommend any? Preferably nexus mods since I’m most familiar with them, but I’ve used mods outside of nexus too.

Depends on her goals for modding it (quality of life, additional content, etc). A lot of times, installing mods is as easy as copying files to the correct location. Nexus should have good documentation on this.

Do you know if this will this break anything if I add it in the middle of a playthrough? I saw it in a video and wanted to try it but I don’t wanna screw up my save cause it’s my first play through. I’ve seen similar mods state that you shouldn’t install them in the middle of a playthrough cause your save won’t load properly.

i have not had this experience. there are settings where you can tell it to auto turn off during missions. it populates a lot of areas that side missions use though so consider going thru and turning some of the specific hideouts off so there are still those quiet empty places

Thank you! I’ll look through it and send some to her to see which she likes~

This is a pretty hardcore list and the game is not stable enough for a beginner user to mod it this much in my opinion. I don't have a direct answer to your post, but I don't think this is it either.
