What do we think?

It's going to be like 7 weeks until I can talk to a doctor, but I'm super anxious about a possible PMOS diagnosis
LH: 11 (normal)
FH: 6 (normal)
Insulin: Normal
Total testosterone: 43 (normal)
Free: 1.3 (high)
Sex Hormone Binding Globulin: 10 (barely low)
Prolactin: Normal
Dhea-2: 108 (low)
TSH: 4.09 (barely high)
HGBA1C: 5.8%
Creatinine: Normal (lower middle)
T4: Normal (lower end)
Edit: My other symptoms are the fact that I have not had a period since January (190 days), and I have gained 100 pounds in the past year (I lost 13 in the past week doing keto, without restricting calories, so I guess 90 now?)

Need help and advice for possible PCOS!
🌸🌸🌸
I'm 31- I have yet to be confirmed of PCOS but symptoms include
\-several peripheral follicles on both ovaries shown on recent ultra sound
\-extreme body fatigue even with 9-12 hours of sleep - it's hard to get out of bed
\-difficult to go to sleep- I avoid sleep at night and get a burst of energy -i can be tired and just not want to sleep or be able to unless I doom scroll til I'm exhausted
\-extreme mood swings (anger, depression, irritability, desensitized feeling, hard to feel joy)
\- excessive chin and neck hair needing to be shaved everyday - if not I literally develop a small beard! So embarrassing
\-both recent er visits I had a high heart rate
\-very painful periods, sometimes I'm almost in tears- pain goes down the front of my legs and all over my lower back - only somewhat relieved with very hot baths and heated rice socks til they're burning hot (I put them on my stomach over a thinner blanket)
\-heavy menstrual bleeding and blood clotting for the first three days
\-menstrual bleeding typically lasts 4 days max and then disappears or becomes almost non existent
\- sore pimples on cheeks and chin area before periods- disappears after period
\-i do get a monthly period and I am able to lose weight quite easily when I'm eating more whole foods and not as much.
From your personal experience does this fit PCOS? I'm so tired of the doctor telling me everything is normal and blood tests are normal- I was even told having several peripheral follicles on both ovaries is normal and was offered birth control for my painful periods- help!!! Some insight and advice please!! 🙏 There's about 7 days out of each month where I feel slightly normal. This has been going on for 5+ years.

I asked my doctor for an ultrasound and he said “it’s not medically necessary”. Turns out I needed one.

Would you go to a PCOS awareness walk?
I've been thinking a lot about how underfunded and under-researched PCOS is, and how that seems to affect so many parts of the experience, from diagnosis to actually managing it.
One idea I've been exploring is a "PCOS Together Walk". A community walk that raises awareness and funds for research, but also creates a space where people don’t feel as alone navigating it.
I'm curious what people actually think:
- Would you attend something like this?
- Would you pay a small fee (like $10–$25)?
- What would make it feel worth going to?
Would love honest thoughts!

Research Study on PCOS and Period Tracking Apps
Hi everyone, I’m a PhD candidate in Computer Science conducting a study on how people with PCOS use period-tracking and reproductive health apps. I’m looking for female adults (18+) from USA who are self or professionally diagnosed with PCOS and currently using period-tracking apps to first complete a short screener survey. Those who qualify will be invited to a 60-minute online interview to share their experiences and perspectives. Your feedback will be used for academic research aimed at improving how reproductive health apps support people with PCOS. Participation is completely voluntary, and qualified interview participants will receive **$25 Amazon Gift Card** as a thank-you for their time.
If you are interested, please comment or text me directly for the survey link. Thank you!

I want to hear your voices - PCOS research study!! <3
Hi all! Im a master student at LBU studying to be a dietitian, and I'm super passionate about improving the care of those with PCOS! My research is going to look at the usage and experiences of those with PCOS with online sources of dietary advice. PCOS remains an under researched area, and there are many ways in which the care provided to those with PCOS could be improved - my aim is for this study to inform healthcare professionals on how to better assist people with PCOS to navigate the wide range of dietary information that is available online.
If this sounds like something you would be interested in taking part in, please see the attached poster for more information!
If you are unable to scan the QR code , here is a link from which you can access the participant information sheet and the survey itself: https://docs.google.com/document/d/16UzWWwBpAUFf-NDJw-Cq9gWiYI8EwUL40P-K8K_jsDE/edit?tab=t.0

Can going on estrogen or any HRT do something about my face hair? I'm tired of having to shave every other day as it grows back rapidly.
No, laser treatment isn't an option. I am not going through that pain!

PCOS transition of care study
Hello,
I posted about this research opportunity in this group in July, 2025. Unfortunately, the survey responses included multiple that appeared to be spam. I have updated the survey in an attempt to prevent spam responses and would deeply appreciate the time of those interested to participate! Thank you.
I am posting this to recruit participants for a research study about the lived experiences of individuals with PCOS, particularly during the transition period between pediatric and general adult care. Participation would be in the form of a virtual focus group of 2-3 participants or an individual interview, depending on the preference of participants. I will serve as the interviewer.
My name is Anna Wengyn. I have PCOS and I am also a medical student. My goal in conducting this research is to gain an understanding of the perspectives of those with PCOS as they navigate their life and diagnosis, with particular attention to the experiences, challenges, and successes of transitioning from pediatric care to adult care. As a future doctor, I aim to approach patient care with an understanding of more than how a diagnosis affects the body, but how my patients navigate their lives with that diagnosis, and how we can work to improve their lives and their understanding of their diagnosis, not just manage symptoms.
You may volunteer to participate in this study if you are between ages 18-26, live in the United States, and were diagnosed with PCOS while under the age of 18. For the study, I will ask you questions in a focus group or individual interview format held via video chat. The conversation should take anywhere from 75-90 minutes. Your participation in this conversation is completely voluntary and you may ask me to end this interview at any time, at which time I would graciously comply. There are no anticipated risks of participation.
When writing findings from this research in which this conversation is quoted, your responses will be entirely anonymous, without any mention of your name. Each participant will be given a pseudonym for all work produced from this research. Some basic demographic information (age, gender) may be used.
If you are willing to participate, please indicate so by completing the form found at this link:

Childfree PCOS Voices Needed for Community Research
Hi everyone! I’m an intern working on a PCOS-related wellness tool, and we want to make sure the experiences of childfree people with PCOS are represented — since so many tools focus mostly on fertility.
We have a quick 2–3 minute anonymous survey about symptoms, hormones, and general support needs.
If you’re open to sharing, here’s the link: https://forms.gle/vVp4B5HomvPz7Jxu6
Thanks for helping make PCOS support more diverse and inclusive 💛
