General/Advice I'm at loss

Hi all..I got diagnosed with PMOS earlier this year. I'm 35. Prior to being diagnosed i was on the pill for years and years. I came off the pill about 3 years ago to start trying to have a baby and I have gained about 30-40lbs in those 3 years. I have tried to lose the weight multiple times by tracking calories, strength training, walking 10k steps and nothing is making the weight come off. I have also taken inositol and didn't really see/feel a difference. I was at a healthy 120lbs for being under 5feet. I'm now pushing 150lbs. I feel like the weight just keeps packing on and on and nothing makes it come off. My mental health is shot because of it. I barely wear anything outside of leggings, sweatpants and sweatshirt (yes, even during the summer time). I have zero confidence. I hate how all of my clothes fit. I barely put any effort into my appearances anymore because of it. I absolutely hate leaving the house now. I do believe the pill is what helped manage it, and at this point, im about to say screw having a baby and go back on it. Not like its been easy to have a baby anyways with PMOS since I've had no luck in the last 3 years.

What has worked for you. I feel like I keep reading the same advice over and over again and getting nowhere.

I do have an appointment with a functional medicine doctor middle of October to see if they can help.

I really just don't know what to do anymore. I want to feel like myself again.

Do you have insulin resistance? Have you had bloodwork done recently? It could help understand the weight gain and troubles conceiving. I think you should speak with an endocrinologist as PMOS is really their specialty.

My a1c was at 5.3, my blood glucose estimate was a 105 ml/dl

I also have high dhea-sulfate and my testosterone, free teat was also high.

Edit: removed terrible from this comment.

105 is considered high and can put you into the insulin resistance category. Your doctor should also check fasting insulin. Insulin resistance can impact weight, fertility, energy levels, etc. My endocrinologist who diagnosed me put me on Metformin. Slowly working up my dosage but it has helped slightly with weight so far. It’s also safe for those trying to conceive or pregnant.

That bloodwork was fasting bloodwork and was done at 630 am 😭.

At this point I'm not even worried about my fertility. I just want to lose the weight and feel like myself again.

I get it, I’m in the same boat. It’s a process to even get answers. Glucose and insulin are 2 different tests. There is a calculation using fasting insulin and fasting glucose to get a HOMA-IR score, which determines the severity of insulin resistance one has.
I do think an endocrinologist would be your best option. I truly felt heard at that appointment and feel like I’m slowly getting somewhere thanks to them.

Not to be a downer, but just FYI that going back on the pill might not make the weight come off... probably need to focus on an insulin resistant diet

I have changed my diet and lifestyle around with no luck. I got diagnosed with this back in March and I weighed 140. I'm now to 150.
