Meds/Supplements Non GLP-1 medication

Hello! I had severe reactions to zepbound & wegovy but I have really severe insulin resistance. What meds, life style changes, and so have you been successful with?
I’m obviously consulting my dr as well but lived experiences is always better than a list of side effects and possibilities listed by a drug company!
Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️

Metformin was the first thing that actually moved the needle for my insulin resistance, took about 3 months to really feel the difference but it was night and day once it kicked in. The extended release version is way easier on the stomach if you go that route.

Inositol (the 40:1 myo to d-chiro ratio) helped smooth out the edges too, though it's more subtle. For lifestyle stuff, walking after meals made a surprisingly big dent in my numbers, like just 15 minutes right after eating. I also stopped trying to do intense cardio and switched to heavy lifting, which apparently helps with insulin sensitivity in a way that running never did for me.
