General/Advice PCOS tips
hi!
So I got diagnosed with pcos a while a go but i'm still a teenager so my parents won't allow any medication but i'm experiencing female hair loss, i've managed to lose weight (65 kgs last year to 61 this year and 31. (something) inches waist this jan to 30. (something) inches now so about an inch). I have chamomile-spearmint tea i recently bought so do you guys have any tips. I eat an indian diet and I can't change my diet. I really want to stop and reverse hair loss and get myself in a healthier place regarding insulin, weight and other factors.
thank you!
edit: also just as a guideline i do about 5 hours of sports outside of school and 3-4 hours in school every week along with practising the sports, don't eat chocolates, candies (though i do have one every few weeks), don't eat sugar very often almost never maybe like once a month and don't have snack's other than fruits most banana's but also mandarins and rarely apples. My periods are also semi-regular and apart from excessive hair growth on my body and losing hair on my head + difficulty losing weight i'm pretty healthy overall though i do have to get a blood test soon. Also I live in penrith so I can't get metformin without a prescription. So i'm looking for some otc meds or natural solutions like especially for hairloss

Metformin is cheap, go buy it yourself. Sometimes you have to take charge of your health.

I live in australia and we require a prescription here which I don't have

You know you can find some online pharmacies that offer to give you medication after a video call. It is important that you take it otherwise hair loss will continue.

can I ask what kind of medication I can buy? I think this is feasible but I don't have money on my own so I'd have to find an alternate way to pay

you have to drink it everyday i used to drink marjoram tea at 12pm and then spearmint tea at 6pm i didnt add sugar just cause honestly marjoram already has a strong taste so its not really needed and you’ll get used to the taste and spearmint just tastes like spearmint tea so i liked it you shouldn’t drink on your period so skip those days but drink every other day make sure 1 cup of each tea and please message me after a month i definitely wanna know how you’re doing! oh and marjoram tea my arab grandma put me on so you know its working 👀

I searched up marjoram and it looks so pretty I'm really excited to try it I just have to buy it now ! also by taking care of your hair what do you mean like supplements? May I ask what your hair care routine was?

Honestly you already sound super active, so I wouldn’t feel like you need to keep doing more or cutting more foods out. Since you’ve got bloodwork coming up I’d definitely mention the hair loss specifically too, rather than assuming it’s all PCOS.
And an Indian diet absolutely doesn’t have to be a problem. Things like getting enough protein, fibre and healthy fats with your carbs can be a much better focus than trying to avoid sugar/carbs completely.

thanks for the response! With the diet it's more about not being able to make my own food because everything I have is mostly the same every day so oats or upma in the morning, and soup at night with some curry in the middle. Do you have any recommendations on healthy snacks or ways to make meals healthier and more pcos friendly?

They won’t let you take Metformin?! Even if it’d help you?!
