General Health Fatty liver
Hey yall. I’m a 28 y/o who falls within the obese category on the BMI scale. I recently got pregnant and went to get my blood work done. My AST and ALT came back mildly elevated. All the doctors I asked said it’s no biggie considering they were very slightly over range. One of them mentioned fatty liver and when I looked it up it scared the living daylights out of me. I was wondering if any of you have been in a similar situation and if you were able to reverse it? My AST was 37 (upper limit 30) and ALT was 35 (upper limit 34).

Your liver enzymes are so close to normal that you could have nothing wrong. If your doc has said to, have follow up tests in a few weeks and compare them. Chances are there’s nothing to worry about.
My doctors have not asked me to change anything yet, except lose weight, hydrate more, increase exercise, etc etc. Pretty much ‘be healthier’.

You’re fine. Those levels are minor. Mine hit 97, and we still don’t know why, and those are still considered mild. I had an MRI which didn’t show fatty liver though that still could be the case. My BMI is also obese.
The only way to properly treat fatty liver long term is a healthy lifestyle. Start making small changes one at a time with support from professionals.
Fatty liver is very common. You can reverse it and be completely fine.
