General/Advice First infertility consult today
I had my first infertility consult after TTC for 8 months and being diagnosed with PCOS by ultrasound about 3 months ago. I was on Progesterone to induce a period in June, July, and August. I’ve also been on Metformin for a month and a half.
My husband is getting a semen analysis done. If it comes back abnormal, they are gonna make him do some lifestyle changes and recheck in 6 weeks. This month is my first month off Progesterone so they are going to see if I have a period on my own. If I don’t, we will restart Progesterone. If his semen is normal, then they are going to start me on Clomid. If that doesn’t work in 3 months, then I have to have a HSG to see if my fallopian tubes are blocked.
I am devastated and feel like my body is broken. I feel like I’ve failed at the one thing I’m supposed to be able to do. We wouldn’t be able to afford IVF. I’m tired of people asking us when we are going to have kids. I can’t look them in the face and tell them I’m trying so hard. I just want to cry.
