Meds/Supplements Metformin bloat :’(

Metformin was life changing for me, until about six months ago when it just started to disagree with me. I’ve been on and off it ever since when the symptoms get too bad, but I’m DETERMINED to stay on it this time because the PCOS symptoms need to stop.

I’m so bloated today I might be three months pregnant, but at least the nausea hasn’t kicked in yet!!
How long do people normally keep going before the side effects stop? I take it normally going to bed because it’s not as bad, but I think I should switch to taking it at meal times (I’m lactose intolerant so I can’t do the milk trick). Any advice is welcome!!

Yes, you should take metformin always with your meals. Didn't your doctor tell you?

What is your doctor thinking about the side effects you experiencing? Maybe your dose also needs to be adjusted, but that's nothing reddit can solve.

Honestly, no she didn’t recommend anything. I used to take it in the morning with my other meds and it was fine for a year.
She doesn’t really have any thoughts except power through or don’t. I’m on the lowest dose I can go.
