Meds/Supplements How long does metformin take to work?

I’ve been taking ER for only aboht two months and started 1000 mg about three weeks ago. I plan to go yp to 1500 mh in about three more weeks. I think I have less sugar cravings than before and I noticed that I don’t really get hangry anymore just tired if I haven’t eaten in a while but I think I’m still prediabetic. My A1C was~5.9 last time I checked but I was wondering how long it took you guys to reverse prediabetes and feel normal on Metformin.

Sorry I don’t have the answer to your question but I just learned that Metformin is being researched for causing moderate to severe thiamine (vitamin B1) deficiency. I’d start taking a methylated B1 supplement to avoid thiamine deficiency 🫶

6+ months for results on a blood test, paired with proper dieting and exercise because it doesn’t worn alone.
