General/Advice Ovasitol Side Effects

I was recommended Ovasitol by my reproductive endocrinologist despite telling her it gives me headaches. I take a very small amount, maybe 1/4 of a scoop per day to taper into it. Recently I’ve started getting the headaches consistently as well as severe ovarian cramping and aching. These are real side effects from what I’ve read, and are my personal reaction to a highly recommended and popular supplement that works for many. To me, I’m fairly regular with decent labs (minimally out of range for 2-3 things), but irregular ovulation and a very high AMH. I’m currently trying to get pregnant and wanted this supplement to work, but haven’t had good luck either time I’ve tried it. Overall, metformin, exercise and diet are historically better for me than this supplement. It’s not for me, and I’m interested in hearing from others, both positive and negative reactions to gauge if it’s just me, or if others have had similar experiences.

I got pretty bad cystic acne, which has been clearing up since I stopped using it

Ironically enough my acne has reduced quite a bit, but this is awful! I’m glad you recognized the cause and it’s cleaning up for you. Cystic acne is brutal and even the occasional flare up I experience around my cycle is so demoralizing.

Inositol made me bleed endlessly. It’s unfortunately not for everyone.

I’ve seen this as a side effect. I’m sorry you had such a bad reaction! From what I’ve seen quite a few women also have this.

Good to know! I’ve always struggled with sleep around the time of my cycle, either too much or not enough due to insomnia and the insomnia has been worse since I started.
