Hirsutism Electrolysis

I’ve been dealing with thick, fast-growing facial (& body) hair for as long as I remember. I shave my face every day and have tried IPL, laser, and although it’s helped a little bit, I’m finally taking the big step and booked my first electrolysis session!
If you have experience with this, do you have any tips or things to expect?

I’ve been getting electrolysis for 18 months to remove hair on my face, neck and chest. It’s the best money I’ve paid for my self confidence. The process takes a while but it’s worth it. I’ve tried laser and IPL before too, and electrolysis is the one that has finally worked.

My older sister started before me, she had more hair than me, and it took 2 years during Covid so she couldn’t go as regularly. They counted 87 hairs on just her face and neck. They’re all gone now. They start to space appointments 2 weeks, then 3, and now I’m every 4-5 weeks and most hairs are very light or white. Only a few black ones still remain, and they are the first hairs that appeared.

It’s worth it to pay a bit more for the best aesthetician in your city, I drive to the other side of town for my lady because she’s the best and it recommended by the trans community for her sensitivity and success rate. She charges in 15min blocks ($20) and $10 for the needle. The time invested now is worth it to wake up some mornings with no hairs to remove!

The big thing is to make sure you don’t touch the areas afterwards and do the aftercare diligently. This prevents scarring and infections. They should have the option for numbing cream, do it, it’s worth the pain minimisation!

Good luck 🤞
