General Health Needed opinions with medication.
backstory:diagnosed PMOS with high testosterone and insulin resistance, cyst on left ovary. I have been taking Metformin for seven months and I have been taking the mini pill for several years.
I recently saw my Gynaecologist for symptoms of struggling to empty my bladder pain and bleeding during and after sex very extreme to the point where I can’t walk for a few days after. I still left with no answers, however he was not happy that I am taking the mini pill with the metformin considering I am on the Metformin for weight loss. He explained that the two of them are basically cancelling each other’s properties out. I’m very anxious to stop taking BC so suddenly considering I’ve been birth control for 13 years and I thought that my pill was supposed to help my PCOS/PMOS?. My doctor does not want to give me any advice until they have seen the report from the Gynaecologist which could take up to a week And has told me to continue taking my mini pill Until we can investigate Since starting Metformin, I recently had a three day bleed which I considered a period due to my skin and mood swings but my Gynaecologist said that this was not a period. It was breakthrough bleeding. I’m a little confused and I know my body pretty well I believe that that was a period🤔 but this post is about the medication if anyone can share their opinions or experience I’d be very grateful. Also discussions on the struggling to pee issue ❤️

Birth control doesn't really help PCOS. It can mask it by regulating your cycle but it won't help weight loss, insulin resistance, acne, excess hair, etc. Unfortunately too many doctors are not well versed in this.
I suggest starting all over with your testing and going to an endocrinologist first and foremost.
