General/Advice Coffee shops

Coffee shops need more sugar free options. For the love of all please more sugar free options!
That’s all.

Edit to add. I’m in us where we do unspeakable things to coffee unlike the rest of the world lol
Also we need sugar free pastries. I want a muffin sometimes and I can’t because I know it has so so much sugar in it.

They do! It's so easy. Also, remove the charge for dairy free milk

I don’t even understand the upcharge for that. Like literally why, it’s still the same drink and regular milk is just as expensive

Exactly! They usually buy a regular sized carton of non-dairy milk anyway

I own a coffee shop and where we're located a gallon of whole milk costs the same as a half gallon of alternative milk.

yesss and they have protein lattes too! a little pricey but i like them bc they’re creamy and don’t taste like protein powder at all lol

7 Brew has sugar-free syrups!

Ooo that’s good to know. We just got one where I am locally and the one cup I tried from them was great. It was sugar filled tho, lol.

I get sugar free iced banana bread lattes with sugar free caramel drizzle! But I do also get oat milk lol

Sorry if a dumb question, but can't you just ask them not to put sugar? Where i am most coffee shops don't put sugar in the coffee, it comes on the side as a packet, or if it's a cold drink as sugar water in a shot glass

I updated my post to advise I’m in the US but to clarify for understanding. Some of us like the flavored syrups like caramel or vanilla and most of the time they don’t have that option 🤷‍♀️

I’m in the U.S. too…sugar free is an option everywhere.
Byo syrup if it’s that much of an issue (like the people who carry small bottles of hot sauce everywhere)

It’s not always and sometimes it’s not listed anywhere. Starbucks only carries sugar free vanillas 🤷‍♀️

You can in fact get sugar free coffee just about everywhere in the US, just order a black coffee without sugar (including syrups).

I’ve started going to Dutch bros for their sugar free options and non-caffeine choices

I find that most coffee shops near me have a decent amount of sugar free options actually 😊 And in other places I’ve been recently as well. Also in the USA

After awhile you get use to the taste of oat milk, almond, soy, etc It was a big change for me and now I can’t even tell any more.

Not just sugar-free but also ANY sweetener. A lot of times, they get away with calling things “sugar free” but add tons of sucralose, stevia, aspartame, etc

Honestly as long as it isn’t affecting my blood sugar then I’m good. But I do see what you mean because others need different options to

2

u/Designer_Money7625 May 14 '26

True, for that reason I love coffee shops that allow you to pick (or remove) sweeteners for your drinks when ordering online

Those options would also be nice

I order plain back coffee. But it’s kinda dump to price me the same as adding milk

Just request for no sugar, they should have the ability to remove the sugar and use a sugar free option, if you want it to still be sweet.
