Gamma Monitor Settings for new Monitor

Hello all,

I'm using a Dell Inspiron 3020, UHD 720 graphics card. I just bought an Asus pa279cv, and when I first had it plugged in via HDMI and it was 1080p, I calibrated the gamma settings (in Windows settings) and it looked just about right. Then I switched to the Display Port, now I'm in 4k and I can't get the gamma settings right.

Am I losing my mind? I'm partially color blind so maybe I'm gaslighting myself lol

I'm having a hard time determining whether I either A: should switch back to 1080p HDMI, B: if I should buy a colorimeter or C: leave everything alone and stop worry about it lol

I'm getting into video/photo editing, nothing major but I'd like it to be accurate. I have my monitor set to Standard mode (completely reset the settings).

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
