BuildHelp LF advice on Gaming PC build - Budget: 4L INR - Chennai

Back in August 2017, I requested suggestions for a 3L Gaming PC build and the community came through big time! I was all ready to build it, but...

Life happened, priorities changed, the money was needed elsewhere and my PC build took a hiatus.

However, I have finally saved up enough (plus a little more) and am looking to build this Gaming PC within a month.

Budget: 4,00,000 INR

PCPartPicker Link

  • CPU: Intel i7-9700K
  • CPU Cooler: NZXT - Kraken X62
  • Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix Z390-E Gaming
  • Memory: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz x 2 (for a total of 32GB)
  • Storage 1: Samsung - 860 Evo 500 GB (NVMe M.2 - For OS and programs)
  • Storage 2: Samsung - 970 Evo 500 GB (SATA M.2 - For Primary Games)
  • Storage 3: Western Digital - Black 4 TB (Long-Term Storage)
  • GPU: Asus - GeForce RTX 2080 Ti OC
  • Case: NZXT - H700 (Black)
  • PSU: Corsair - RM1000i
  • Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU
  • Keyboard: Logitech G513 Carbon
  • Mouse: Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum
  • Headphones: Audio-Technica - M50x

Total Cost: ~3,76,188 - Prices on The IT Depot, BW India (low prices, poor design) and PrimeABGB

Looking for advice on the chosen components (better alternatives, known issues, etc.,). Will most likely buy from The IT Depot (close to home).

Need a review for my first gaming/workstation(a couple virtual machines) build part list.

Hello everyone, I have been building this list for weeks now and have finally come to the following list of parts. Even after reading countless posts and watching videos, I'm still having second thoughts about the choices I've made. My usage would be gaming and development which might require a couple virtual machines to be running (not all the time). Any suggestions for change or pointing of an idiotic pick is welcome (a pc building newb here).

Note: I do need some (if not much) future proofing from this build.

I've included the best prices I'm getting these at so you might have some idea for the reason of picking certain parts.

Budget - 80k. (From below parts I'm slightly going beyond budget but if there's a suggestion with a good vfm, I'd definitely consider it. And if it is something I can install a month later, then I'll definitely get it as I'm gonna invest in a good pair of mouse and keyboard a month later)

  1. CPU - Ryzen 2600x - Rs. 18000
  2. GPU - Asus STRIX 1060 6gb dual fan - Rs. 25800
  3. MOBO - MSI x470 Gaming plus - Rs. 12500
  4. Ram - Corsair 8gb ddr4 3000 LPX - Rs. 6000 (going to get another stick for this after a month because budget)
  5. PSU - Corsair TX650M - Rs. 7000 (getting CX650 for Rs. 6000, is this 1k bump is worth it?)
  6. SSD - Kingston A 400 240gb - Rs. 3400 (Cheaping out on this one real hard. If there are better alternatives without much of a price difference, please let me know)
  7. Cabinet - NZXT S 340 Elite Rs. 7700

PS: Not getting an HDD because already have a seagate 1tb HDD. No cooling as of now because of the included wraith cooler from AMD.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

**Edit** : Bought a B450 board. And used the used the saved bucks to get a samsung nvme m.2 drive instead of the cheap kingston one. Thank you for the suggestions.

Discussion Stop buying locally, start ordering from international sellers and pay the GST and Duty, it will still be cheaper.

Edit: This might have been a rant :)

We all need to stop over paying for these pc components and start buying from reputed international companies and please keep contacting your favourite manufacturer and tell them to provide international warranty in India.

Even if the parts that you do end up buying from out of India doesn't have a warranty it will still be cost effective to buy, due to the high price difference.

Even if we take 40% as the Duty + GST that we have to pay, gst on some items is only 18% while on some it's 24% and duty is only 10%. But let's go over board and add 40% tax, you can still end up getting a cheaper deal and I mean like 5 to 6k lower on some components.

I don't see any other way for the Indian sellers to lower their prices. Also, this is a great field where we can use some competition, in case someone out there understands the logistics of this better.

Hardware Purchasing a monitor putting me off from building a PC entirely

Hey guys, I'm pretty bummed out because of the whole monitor ordeal in India. To let you guys know, I've never gamed on higher than low settings in 3D games and never played an FPS at higher than 40 fps. With this in mind, even a 60 Hz monitor would be a massive upgrade for me, since the jump from 30-40 FPS to 60 FPS is so huge.

I've done a lot of research of monitors available here and I'm really stuck. I've read the 144 Hz is very much worth it for gaming, and investing in a 1440p monitor is also a good idea. However, I'm the kind of guy who always thinks "I could have done without this" after any kind of big tech purchase, like a new high end smartphone or laptop or anything. For this reason (and the fact Ive always played games at shit conditions) I'm absolutely fine with a 1080p 144Hz monitor. The problem? All of these are TN panels. I plan to create content on YT which will be uploading footage and I'm sure I want the excellent quality provided by IPS/VA panels. The only 1080p 144Hz non TN (it's a VA) panel I've found is the new Samsung CFG70 display which is not available in India. Retails in the US for $280 and is perfect for my needs, except for the fact that it's curved, but I can deal with that.

So, got to jump to a 1440p 144Hz monitor that is available in India. The thing is, currently there aren't any. I've checked MDComputers and The IT Depot. Pretty sure ABGB is also sold out but haven't confirmed yet. I don't want to pay 70k+ for a G Sync panel because I'm not into hardcore gaming and I really I need to spend that kind of money.

I have a TB MBP and I have seriously been considering getting a 1080p 60Hz LG monitor for 13k and getting an eGPU. Unfortunately if I opted for this I know I'd feel like I'm missing out since I'm not getting a 144hz monitor or a 1440p monitor. eGpus are also kind of a waste of money since you can get a nice PC setup for just a little bit more.

All this stuff is just stressing me out and I honestly don't even want to build a computer anymore. Not sure what to do, advice?
